Good sleeping location
Decent modest hotel in walking distance to the centre. Nothing fancy but perfectly fine to spend the night. It has space for parking although it should be reserved as it’s limited. We didn’t have breakfast but the option is there.

Pleasant for 2 nights
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, it's very well located and only about a 15 minute walk to the main square. Only about 20 minutes walk from the train station. On arrival we got room 25 which was a bit hard to find, was not marked up at all and you find it through a door that really looks like a door you wouldn't go through. They were doing building work when we arrived too so there were materials laying about. The room itself was really lovely, a great size and very modern with colour changing lights in the bathroom and the bed is so comfy and there are extra pillows made available in the wardrobe. My only issue with the room was the air con did not work and there was only one window which made the room very hot and stuffy. The breakfast served is really great with lots of options - but it costs €12.50 per adult each time so something to bare in mind. We also came back to the hotel at 3.30pm for a little rest after walking about all morning and housekeeping had not been done and they turned up about 10 minutes after we had gone back into the room. The housekeeper knocked on the door about 3 times asking if we wanted housekeeping to which we shouted back 'no thank you'. He left for about 15 minutes then decided to unlock the door and walk in on us and ask again if we wanted housekeeping which we found very rude. He did leave fresh towels outside though. Main part of the hotel closes at 9pm but we didn't encounter this issue as our room was outside of the main building. Overall a good stay, enjoyed our visit to bruges.

I need to register my indignation at the receptionist of the Golden Tree Hotel (Hoefijzerlaan 21, Bruges). On arrival, when I realized that I had been charged double the daily municipal fee, I politely asked for correction. Very stressed, the receptionist returned the difference in money roughly. When I asked her about the price of the room for one person and two people for the same, she even wanted to hear it and started talking loudly and said that I should look for another hotel. I really can not accept this abuse. She began to speak even louder when her colleague interrupted her and began to answer me. Record here my indignation and then dissatisfaction with the quality of care of this service. To finish, it is written on the hotel's business card the following: “we wish you a nice and relaxing stay”...

The hotel is well located, 5-10 minutes walk to the center.
The room was big enough and very clean, with a large bathroom also. They did the cleaning every day. Breakfast was good and tasty.
There is no cattle in the room but there is a coffee machine in the lounge. where you can sit and drink something if you wish, or in the courtyard (which is under construction at this time), which I found very relaxing. They have a luggage room that you can use it.
Stuff was very friendly and polite, ready to answer to all of your questions. I really felt welcomed.

Special Anniversary Break
The Golden Tree Hotel is located in a very convenient location close to the centre of Bruges (5 minutes walk) it is a small and very welcoming hotel with staff who try very hard to be helpful and make your stay enjoyable, also located within a short walk (or taxi ride at €7) from the central railway station.
The rooms are not all that large but ours very nice, with a very comfortable bed and large modern bathroom facilities, it was at the rear and therefore nice and quiet (worth noting) though in our case the mini bar was interestingly located in the wardrobe? which took up a lot of usable space and interestingly owing to the lack of airflow, it tended to make things in the wardrobe a little warm.
The one other thing we would have liked was the facility to make hot drinks (tea & coffee) in the room but unfortunately this is only available in the small lounge area (corridor between reception and the rear located rooms) this is also something I am sure they will improve.
There is a nice area outside currently under construction that will provide a pleasant area to sit aswel. Overall we liked the hotel and would most certainly revisit, they only cater for breakfast and this was very well provided for with a large smile and with a good selection of nice fresh foods to meet all tastes; excellent, so if you want a good well placed hotel this will be hard to beat.
