Tired and worn
I have to admit that the pictures that the hotel publishes on its website are much nicer than reality. In reality, the mattresses had deep dark stains, the curtains had not been washed in ... I don't know how long and there were stains almost everywhere in the room (Thank God I always carry disinfectant wipes). Ironically, the only thing that seemed to be really clean was the bathroom. Oh, and the Senseo (nice touch) too.
Old and worn furniture and very stuffy, even with the window open.
The only good thing (which saves the property from a "terrible" rating) about the Wake Up is its very central location near Grote Markt and Groenplaats etc. I would have made a positive note of the price as well, but close to 90,- EUR for this kind of accommodation is still too much.

Wake-Up Sandwich Hotel
We had a small studio apartment, it was clean and tidy but had no aircon (not even a desk fan) so with only one opening window, it was roasting hot. We did have a screen we could put up to allow us to keep that window open and ensure the mozzies stayed out, but it is definitely on my list of places to visit in winter.
The location is great, just off the Grote Markt so it was easy to walk to great bars and restaurants.
I would stay here again, but only outside of any chance of hot weather!

the wake-up experience!
What a nice and really cool place! Absolutely refreshing room, for instance a hip & modern bathroom! And very spacious room! Highly recommended for a one or two days in Antwerp.
Generally as a foreigner, you’re not all set with datacredits on your phone before you can use the wifi from the hotel. Therefore be aware to organise some datacredits on your phone when you arrive at the address, you must check-in at another address which you have to look up at google maps.
Thanks guys, we enjoyed our stay very much!!

Ground floor dark prison cell next to the bar kitchen with buzzing fridge & noise from icemachine and dishwasher! Window faces a shared mini terrace with the bar - no privacy! overshadowed by giant firestairs - no daylight! NO WiFi in the room - other than stated. Called 4 times, no one fixed it. Public WiFi from the bar (only working IN the bar) is restricted to only 500MB per day. Phone not working, old 80s TV set, remote not working. Bed is a fold-out cupboard. Paid around 100€ per night (!!!), there's many far better options to stay in Antwerp for this price. Was told to send a complaint which I did - of course no answer! Do not book this hotel!

Perfect for a city break!
The hotel is located right in the middle of Antwerp. Everything was in walking distance and the neighborhood is really nice. There is also a small kitchen with fridge and coffee machine in the room which is ideal if you want to sleep in and don't want to get up for breakfast. Loved the place!
