What a wonderful little hotel!
We had such a nice time in this small and friendly hotel - everyone raves about the couple who own and run it and what they say is true. We arrived quite early in the day but they were able to switch intended rooms and get us in within 10 minutes, offering us coffee in the meantime. Excellent wifi. Tasteful decorations, nice junior suite for us, lovely breakfast. Location is not too far from city center - we took taxis in for 15 euros, and escaped the hubbub back at the Firean. We are very happy to have found it.

A bit old and tired but superb....
This is a bit strange and tired hotel. Furniture could benefit from some changes and in general the whole place can be renovated soon. Rooms are, on the other hand huge and you have all needed amenities. It just gives you a feeling that you are in the time machine and you traveled 50 years back in time.
But, I have to say that the gentleman who is running the hotel was an absolute pleasure to meet. He is an old school in the best possible sense. You don't find very often so authentic hospitality but also highest level of professional approach in every sentence. I was impressed.

Lovely place, run by an old-fashioned couple. They are so kind and they have a sweet dog that sleeps with a teddy bear. Nice rooms, perfect breakfast. Maybe a bit too expensive but lovely. Not too far from city centre.

Such a nice experience
Two colleagues and I stayed here on a business trip. Our customer chose the Firean for us. When we walked in, the lady behind the desk was chatting to someone who was obviously a friend. She gave us a nice nod and soon enough we had made friends with the dog of the visiting friend, and then we all began a nice chat about small things. Best “long” check- in I can remember. And the check- in experience had other pleasing points, like: “No, I don’t need to see your credit card, I know from who booked you that you’re good for it.” Nice.
The buildings are old and in very good condition, and yes in old buildings the stairs do creak and such. Character, and a welcome change from cookie- cutter hotels.
I was given a room (Nr. 37) which faced the street and in an annex building a couple of doors from the main hotel building. It was very spacious, had opening windows and opening doors to a small balcony. The noise from the street was not bad. The internet functioned well. The room on the opposite side of the hall looks to be a slight bit larger, and faces a garden; it must be very quiet.
The bathroom could use a bit of updating but everything worked just fine and was very clean.
Breakfast was really nice. Made to order. Sort of like a B&B but with better cooking skills.
All in all, I really liked the place. It’s very far from “hotel” but with many of the hotel advantages – I would say that it combines much of the best of hotel and B&B. I can’t say enough about the innkeepers, they were so nice and accommodating. I will definitely stay there again!

Superb family hotel
I had this wow feeling when entering my room, because of its size and the amazing antique furniture. Unlike in most hotel where you have standardised cheap rooms, this one looks like a castle. The very elegant owners serve you in the best way and make you feel at home, speaking many languages and being truly at your service. Breakfast was out of this world. Truly I recommend this place.
