We stayed for the first time at B&B De Hessie in the modern room. We had severe delay with our flight and arrived in the middle of the night, nevertheless Kathleen was there to welcome us and shortly show us around.
the room is extremely spaceous, like having your own flat, and has all comfort you need. Breakfast was great, lots of delicious things to choose from. We rented the bikes for a ride in the woods. The area is really nice, very quiet, but still close enough to the city.
the room does not have a kitchen but we were welcome to get something from the breakfast area or use the kitchen. It did have great coffee and tea amenities.
Will definitely go back again!

Lovely and service minded :D
We could do a very late check in, thanks!!! We got flight problems... We rented bikes from the B&B and they were new and good! Great breakfast and the lovley lady of the house fixed glutenfree for me <3 The last day she also drove us back to the trainstation!!! What a service !!! The room were big and fresh, clean and with a great terass outside. Funny animals like donkies , a horse, rabbits and hens .

We stayed in B&B De Hessie at the weekend for one night. If you don’t have a car you can take the very scenic walk along the cycle path or grab a 2-3 minute taxi ride.
We were welcomed by not only our host but also a very friendly donkey and Shetland pony (both are behind fences for those of you that are a little scared of animals).
We were pleasantly surprised by our room which was really more of an apartment. It had a kitchen fully kitted out with utensils, plates, cooking equipment etc. There was a dining area with a fabulous farm house style wooden table and chairs. Nice big couch with a TV offering lots of channels (some English too). The bed area sits up on the left separate with some spacious storage. The bathroom was amazing with 2 sinks, a wet room (great shower) and a toilet. I think there was a room with bunk beds but we didn’t use that room. May be ideal for 2 young kids.
Also, free WiFi
Beside the sitting area is a huge glass patio door leading outside into the sitting area where there are some seats. It could be used a dining area or for having a couple of drinks. Great view too.
The breakfast was really nice which everything you would expect in the Netherlands. Cereal, bread, various meats, fresh eggs, croissants, jam and much more.
We were running a little late on the day we were leaving and kindly offered a lift into town which was very generous and reflective of how we were treated the entire visit.
The only problem we had was not staying longer. I would highly recommend this B&B when staying in Turnhout and I hope to return one day.

Quiet, calm and donkey neighbo....
We stayed in De Hessie for 2 nights as part of some project work nearby. We had booked the "landelijke kamer" which proved quite spacious and well designed. A full working kitchen and a pellet stove for heating that (Belgian weather) the host quickly lit.
The place turned out to be a very quiet place with only 3 neighbours: two donkeys and a pony (who were all quiet, no worries). Breakfast (included) was fine.
Based on some long time ago job in a large pharma company nearby, I'd consider this a perfect place to stay if you are a regular visitor to that company.

Perfect calm getaway!
This is such a wonderfull place! We stayed in the biggest room 'de landelijke kamer' with just two adults. The room is spacious with very large sofa, own kitchen and fireplace. A donkey welcoms us in the garden :-)
Breakfast is serverd in the room and is everything you could wish for. This is great value for money for everyone with a venue in the neigbourhood or for who wants to just take some time away from it all and coccoon.
We will be back!
