The Al Areen Palace & Spa (formerly Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort Al Areen) is ideal if you are looking to stay in ultimate luxury. This resort in Bahrain has everything you expect to get from a lavish hotel. The private villas are nothing less than sheer opulence. It is located five minutes from the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix Circuit.
The hotel location is perfect if you want to stay away from the hussle of the city. Really relaxing with your own pool at your frontyard, though there are some setbacks that is really obvious when you get to the villa. Cleanliness is a must. There shouldn't be any of those stained carpets and seats, dusty closets and hangers.Toilet that is not working well, three days out of five days of our stay.Bed is way too soft and walls need re-painting or washing, these condition apply throughout the resort. No mini bar, refrigerator poor quality. We needed to beg to get a microwave, when many sites show that this is included with all villas.Broken light fixtures took away from a potentially nice ambience. Landscaping is poor within the villa walls, weeds growing everywhere, not maintained, dead plants. Some fountains not working.Overall, very disappointing considerating the cost. Pictures on Al Areen web site do not reflect what you actually get. Having said all this, there is still a huge room for improvement, develop the place to how this place used to be. By the way, this is not a four hundred sq. meter villa but this includes the terrace and swimming pool area. The food was a saving grace. Thank you.
