We visited Zellamsee in the first half of May.
Stayed at Hotel Seehof in their balcony rooms .
Such a wonderful view with the lake and mountains in the front. The road and the railway tracks below are not such a hinderance compared to the warm hospitality of the owners and the friendly and helpful staff, specially Veronica.
We had a very good time and would love to be back.

Stayed here for a few nights whilst travelling through Austria and Switzerland. Was very impressed by how good the hotel was. The room I had was small but just the perfect size when travelling alone. Great breakfast and views and attentive staff. Would highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Zell am See for a budget friendly price !

I have just had a very enjoyable week skiing in Zell am See whilst staying at the Seehof hotel. I have skied in France, Italy , Andorra and now Austria. This hotel was a very pleasant surprise and of a better standard than the usual skiing hotels offered. It is also 2 minutes from the main Apres ski bars.
There is much mention of the railway . I stayed on the 4th Floor in room 41 facing the railway, the passing passenger trains are electric -by the time you realise what it is the train and noise has gone. There are longer freight trains that are louder but in-frequent again neither bothered me or disturbed my sleep( I;m not a heavy sleeper). The hotel has obviously checked their reviews and have also provided ear plugs - which frankly are not required. The noise from the railway is minimal. ( it is NOT the Clapham junction made out in other reviews) no could I hear anything from other guests rooms - it was v quiet.
The location facing over the lake is stunning. As stated I was skiing but didn't require ski school . If not having lessons it is literally a 6 minute very slow walk in ski boots to the City Express Telecabin and 4 mins to the bus station immediately in front of the City express for the transfer bus to main ski school meeting place at the TRASS express. This is a very gentle slope uphill through the town past the church. (The bus station is also where to catch the 660 bus to the Kaprun Glacier (40 min journey) for a day out -also included on the ski pass)
Hotel has a locked boot room for skis , Boots and boards immediately to the right of the reception doors. it also has a small lift I used daily to the third floor.
The bar and restaurant are of superior quality to other 'Ski hotels ' I have stayed in. Breakfast - take your pick from Continental, cereals or cooked (scrambled egg , bacon, beans). Evening meals are reserved at breakfast from a choice of 2/3 main meals, Starting with a soup, then a salad , main course and a desert, The evening meals were excellent.
I have to mention the management and staff - they are very friendly much more than other places I have stayed and will assist you in any way they can and will chat and converse without being intrusive,
If I ski 'Zell' again I would certainly use this hotel again and hopefully get my old room 41 overlooking the lake and the railway.

Really nice hotel with amazing view! All the staff was really kind and helpful. Me and my family really enjoyed this hotel and this trip! The room we got had this amazing view of the lake and the train did not disturb us at all.

Fantastic hotel. Extremely clean, high standard of service and maintenance. The food appealed to me. All the staff are customer focused. Sani, Willy, Anita and Veronica are shinning stars in the property. Highly recommended. Being close to the railway station is a plus point. I travelled to Zell by train, so not far to walk. Views across the lake at breakfast are incredible. You do the notice the trains at first, but soon are forgotten. After working for an international hotel company, Marriott for 25 years, I was certainly impressed. I'll return in the future for sure.
