Modest Hotel, not suitable for....

Serving beer to large groups is slow. Common areas are all hermetically sealed at night and look deserted, no friendly ambiance when arriving home from apres ski. The breakfast and dinner were very complete and varied. Main switch switches off the sockets, your phone will not charge.

Great location for skiing, goo....

There were 5 of us here for a half term ski break. The hotel is in a top location for skiing, genuine ski in and ski out to three big lifts with hardly any queues at half term. The rooms are a good size and have everything you need. The food was very good, my kids always found something they liked. Some great staff and one grumpy one! Drinks are pricey ( tap water at €4 a carafe) and you can run up quite a bar bill charging to your room. Wi-fi is only in the public areas which helped to get the kids up in the morning for their fix of social media. Downsides? The great ski in/out location means you are a long way from any life at night. It’s a bus and a taxi back. The pool was so cold my kids refused to use it so as a plan to keep them off their IT before dinner didn’t work. Bar service can be a bit slow in the restaurant and the hotel bar and staff are very good it is dead. For the ski in you need to be happy with a tricky red or icy blacks or enjoy poling along a blue.

My husband and I have just returned from what we can only describe as a perfect skiing holiday. Being "older" skier's we try very hard to locate a "ski in ski out" hotel. Often disappointed on arrival to find steps, long walks etc to lifts. This hotel is ideal. Right on the slopes, you literally walk out of the locker room and hey presto- lifts and nursery slopes. From the minute we arrived every member of staff were so helpful. Ski passes, bath robes for the sauna etc. all available via reception. Food was superb everyday with choices selected at breakfast time and as you were allocated a table for the week you got to know your waiting staff- Jose was particularly helpful and we were sorry to have not been able to say cheerio to him. Rooms tidied every day, in fact ours was serviced during our breakfast and we had great fun guessing how towels would be left- Elephant, Swans etc. Good pool and sauna to use after a day on excellent slopes. Our only small "gripe" was the number of children in the hotel who were using the lift as a play area. Coming in from the slopes the last thing you want to do is have to walk up several flights to your room- However, we have fallen in love with this resort and the hotel and have already made enquiries about returning for the Christmas period 2018 ! Thank you to all staff and management.

Such a potential, but no no no

It feels so sad to to write a bad review about a hotel that have so much mixed feelings and also good things. But the fact is that it is the location that makes this hotell. Location **** but you have to be an intermediate+ skier to get down here with 2 black and one red slope. The red one gives you a few minute walk up the hill to get back to the hotel. Room *** Warm, dry air, smell of dust and from probably the thick carpets. small fridge with nothing in if you don't order. Your own drinks in the fridge not allowed!? Cleanness *** No change of linnen in one week, smell of urine in toilet until we clean it our self! Breakfast **** pretty OK, but often it was empty and not filling up even if it was 30-45 min left on breakfast. Need something more meaty, like sausage, bacon and it would be really nice. Pre paid 4 "course" dinner * Oooohhh, what a joke at a 4* hotel. Course one is not a course at all it is sallad buffé. Course 2 was buffé soup, beef broth every day an some days old pancake to put in soup as filler. The other soup varied but not a course in my opinion. Main course you had to order in the morning at breakfast what you want to dinner and you could usually chose from 2 different meals, meat or fish. And vegetarian btw. 4 nights we gave it a shot, but how disappointing. The meat has been ready for a long time and dry as never before, potatoes half raw and dry. Shack quality!! The desert would have been better if it was cookies bought in the store.. DO NOT BUY THE FOOD HERE. Were gave up after trying 4 days (even it was prepaid) and took taxi to town and had dinner in 3 different restaurants, all excellent.. SO SO sad!. The pool area ** Sauna is not a sauna, it is a warm room. I am from Finland and know a sauna.. My son was not allowed in to sauna and "heat" up after day of skiing since it was 15 years of age to go in?? What! Jacuzzi, fits 2 children, controls falling of and water suddenly just go away! Ski lockers, ski rental/store, bar **** Well organized. Personel **** We thought that we got treated well, few grumpy ones in restaurant but happy ones also. Tear down all about the dinner and do it like an "a la carte" restaurant with "food a la minute" and this can be really good with some tweaks here and there. I saw the owner in the aula and he was very keen it loked nice so I know he cares! He need to eat in the restaurant under cover for 7 days straight or sent a food consultant to do that.. This is a little bigger fix but doable! the other things can easily be addressed!

Family Summer Holiday

A great location with cable car stations nearby. Lots to do and see with excellent local transportation - both rail and bus. The summer card was excellent and allowed free travel on cable cars, chair lifts and the ferry etc. We had a two room suite which was large, bright and very clean. The view from the balcony was lovely. The food (main course) was varied but you had to make your choice in the morning with a buffet offered on one or two nights. The salad starters were the same every evening. The food was presented to a very high standard. We liked having our own allocated table for the duration of our stay. The bar staff and waiters were polite and efficient - particularly Mario and Josef who should be commended on the level of their customer service. A fridge is provided in the room but you are asked not to use it unless it is for the mini-bar service which is an additional cost to the all inclusive package. We would of liked pricing details for the minibar in our room without having to find out at reception. Overall, it was a lovely family holiday and we would recommend the hotel and certainly think about a second visit.
