Fantastic place to stay
We stayed here for 3 nights for a city break. Angela was fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. The room was wonderful, very spacious, huge comfy bed and all the things you could need. The location is perfect, a tram stop nearby for easy access to all of Vienna (the public transport is great, easy to use and very regular). The quiet large enclosed garden was lovely, private and full of trees/plants/bushes. When we visited beginning of April it was only just starting to bud but I imagine in the Summer months it is stunning. Breakfast was delicious, served to you at your table at a time convenient to you. I would highly recommend this high class B&B to anyone wanting a restful retreat in the middle of Vienna. 5* all round.

Quaint and wonderful
If you are fortunate enough to be able to get a room here, you will likely be very glad you did. Your host and her husband are most welcoming and can't do enough to make you feel comfortable in her "home" (they do live on property).
Rooms are large, modern and absolutely spotless with a lovely fruit plate awaiting your arrival. Our rooms were cleaned by the time we finished the extensive Breakfast which includes includes fruits, yogurt, cereals, cheese and cured meats, and eggs made to order.
There is a lovely courtyard and common living room if you are looking for conversation with others which was great for us as two couples traveling together. Finally, the location is also perfect with the 49 tram stopping just outside the front door.

Charming and luxurious
We rented the "Salettl," a little building at the far end of Schreiners' garden. Super quiet, with its own terrasse surrounded by bushes and trees. A genuine retreat. We were in Vienna for work and very much appreciated the time spent "at home." Food is absolutely first-rate. For breakfast, you don't get the usual "buffet-style" things. Rather, Austrian "essentials" are served at the table, including home-made strudel. Everything is delicious and of the highest quality. The owners also run a small and exquisite restaurant, that's the "Essen" part of the place's name: Schreiners Essen & Wohnen. One gets the sense that in their heart they are first of all chefs, in particular Thomas, but we believe Angela made the cakes. The restaurant is open only four nights a week, Tuesday to Friday. Be sure to eat there! Weather permitting you are seated in the courtyard which is not visible from the outside. And yet the ten (or so) tables seemed to be fully booked, many of the guests seemingly regulars. The atmosphere was very friendly, the staff lovely and attentive. The food is Austrian of the highest quality. Same for some dishes that showed Asian influences. We ate grilled fish one night, absolutely delicious. The other night we ate what they called a goulash of chanterelle with dumplings, first-rate ingredients, childhood flavors, but none of the too-heavy sauces that once were common. For dessert we went twice for the same thing, a masterful crème brûlée with a blueberry sauce. Sigh! Last not least, there is Otto, one of the nicest and we assume wisest dogs we met in a long time. Otto keeps his distance and warms up to guests only gradually and after careful observation. We loved him and are hoping to see him too again when we return!

Loved this place
If large hotels are your thing then you are not going to get this place. If you like somewhere a little different but not shabby then you will love this place. Our room was really spacious with a lovely, little balcony and it had about every amenity you could want in a city break room e.g. all toiletries etc. The whole atmosphere about this place is laid back but welcoming. It is situated in an easy walk to the main attractions but the surrounding area has great vibe with lots of interesting bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Having said that we ate both nights in their restaurant. It is a pretty courtyard and the food, wines and service were superb.

Wonderful place to stay in Vie....
My husband and I travel a lot and we like to stay in small, quaint, out of the ordinary type hotels or b&b's. While researching Vienna accommodations, nothing impressed us until we found Schreiners Wohnen. After seeing the pictures of the bedrooms, dining room, and courtyard and reading the reviews, we knew right away that this was where we wanted to stay. We recently spent a whole week at Schreiners and it was even better than we had anticipated. The Neubau neighborhood where it is located, has interesting streets with boutiques, antique shops, and restaurants. We like to walk, and found that it was only about a 15 minute walk to the Museum Quarter and then five minutes more to the middle of Vienna. After long days of exploring Vienna we enjoyed returning to our peaceful room. The room itself was really special. It was large, simply decorated with nice wood floors, and had many windows which opened and let in lots of light. We had a balcony that overlooked the roses growing at the end of the courtyard. The bed was very comfortable and combined with the quietness of the room we slept well every night. The bathroom was great with a large rain shower. Meals in the cosy dining room were very pleasurable. We looked forward to the delicious breakfast each morning and the two dinners we ate there were also exceptional. We enjoyed Angela and Thomas, the owners of Schreiners. It is obvious that they have put their heart and soul into this establishment. Everything about this place is just fantastic! If we ever return to Vienna we will definitely stay here.
