Excellent period hotel..
We chose this because of it's location, price, reviews and the fact that it is family run.
I asked for a room at the front of the hotel and that's exactly what I got and I think it was one of the best rooms and the largest.
The hotel is full of period features. Some people may say it needs updating, but that would spoil the appeal.....and would also increase the prices.
It was a shame that it did not have a bar, but there are mini bars in the rooms, oddly no tea making facilities, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. When exciting the hotel, turn right and walk for about 20 mins and you will end up right in the centre of town. Trams are everywhere and run frequently, but we got to everything by walking.
The hotel was clean and presentable and the staff where nice.
WiFi was good and the shower we had actually worked as a shower with hot water and adequate pressure.
I would certainly stay again.

no servis at all
hi everyone, before ttwo weeks i was in vienna and i stayed in the hotel atlanta and it was one of my worst decisions.the hotel servis was very poor and if we needed anything we had to ask minimum three times to bring us and the attidued of the employes there was like they where doing us a favor and let us stay there.the room and facilities was very old and not very clean.the second day we ask if they can clean the room and the only thing they did was to fold the towels, not change them, not even change the waste bin that was full.for sure i am NOT recomenden this hotel to anyone.thanks.

Reasonable hotel but could do ....
The hotel is right in the middle of the university district, with university buildings next door and opposite. Very close to the UBahn and trams. Within walking distance to a supermarket (Hofer). Large room, which was kept very clean all week. Safe and minibar included.
Unfortunately, a few problems really affected my view of this hotel. I booked a twin room while I was in Vienna for a conference. The room I was given had a king-sized bed and a sofa bed -- not really suitable for two friends travelling for work.
There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room and no other way to get a hot drink in the hotel outside of breakfast hours. Breakfast is also very expensive if you're on a budget.
The room itself could do with some TLC - e.g. the shower tray would have been unusable but for the rubber mat which was hiding the fact that the paint has pealed off. The curtains did not quite cover the windows. I can imagine the noise of the trams/traffic passing the window would keep light sleepers awake. Even in April, it was warm enough to need the windows open at night.

Not 4-Stars as advertised...
My partner and I are doing a round-Europe tour and decided to visit Vienna, since I had never been I went on a hotel booking site and typed in my criteria - airport shuttle, 4-stars and close to the city centre - these are criteria that I have used in the past and have served me really well in terms of the value that I would receive for how much I was willing to pay. I must say that of all these criteria that I set, this property only meets one of them - close to the City Centre!
You can imagine my disappointment when I had to arrange for my own transit from the airport to the hotel(this was not cheap by the way - Vienna is not a cheap city). On the pictures I saw on this booking site the hotel looked really nice and had an oldy-worldy appeal, this was not the case, the hotel is just plain old and could do with a lot of money spent on it to refurbish it - right in the hallway as you leave the reception area you would see doors bearing scuff marks, this is something that just a lick of paint could fix but that was not done. We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights and 6 days...it was so bad that on the third night we were actually contemplating leaving (I am usually very chilled at hotels). We noticed that the linen in the rooms were not being changed on a daily basis and towels were not being changed either! I went to the reception to let them know of the shortcomings that we have noticed and was told that it would be fixed and someone would be up to the room...the person did come and made the bed using the same old sheets that were on!
The only redeeming feature of this hotel is its location - quite close to shops, museums and transport links to other parts of the City. The breakfast was good as well, it was affordable (by Vienna standards) and had a variety of things that you could choose from. Would I be going back to this hotel? Certainly not!!!
