Highly recommend

We stayed two nights in a room with balcony. We did confirm the reservation which we always do so had no surprises. The view of the lake is spectacular! Yes there is a little noise during the day from lake traffic but not too early or late and it's much less noise than staying right on the main square. The room and bath were very comfortable and spacious. The location we felt was ideal as we could quickly walk anywhere. We loved the breakfast! Great selection of hot and cold and great coffees. We also had dinner -- local fish -- which was delicious. And they provided carafe and coffee in the room! Highly recommend!!

The View

The Heritage Hotel is a classic inside the visit of Hallstatt, since you arrive from the Stefanie boat its image is the first that you find. The Hotel is charm and the view from the balcony is unbreathless. The bad new is the breakfast, not good and expensive.

Stay somewhere else

This property is right in front of the water taxi which means that day and night there are hundreds of loud tourists in front of the hotel. The rooms do not have air-conditioning so you have to leave the doors and windows open which means all you ever hear is people talking. The room claims to have a double bed but it is actually 2 single beds put together. Service is also terrible. Front desk made 4 people wait as there was only 1 person doing check in and out,while 3 others were in the back office. Nobody to help with luggage and general bad attitude. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else toward the edge of the town where it is much quiter. There was nothing relaxing about being here.

Cheats.

Had planned this visit to Hallstatt long ago and was very excited about it. The property looked good on the internet. Booked a deluxe room. The website clearly mentioned that the deluxe rooms have a balcony and all rooms face the lakes. Firstly their check-in, check out policy is horrible. You spend a fortune to book a room. U check in at 3pm but the check out time is 11am. So what u get is just a half day. The girl at the reception was dress attrociously and did not know how to talk to a guest. I suspect being an Indian guest they do discriminate while alloting the room. I paid for a deluxe room and what I got was a standard room. On enquiring I got a standard reply that not all deluxe rooms have balcony. This was pure,blatant lie. Guests who checked in after me were alloted rooms with balconies. This is nothing but discriminatory policy of the hotel staff. Would never reccomend this place of cheaters to anyone.

Bad service experience at the ....

We booked this hotel considering the good review in the tripadvisor. We arrived this hotel on April 24 evening as our honeymoon trip. The location and room condition are ok, not that great as we expected. We stayed there overnight and planned to leave the hotel for our next city on April 25. As we rent the car and parked in the public parking space, we required the to take the shuttle bus as we have some luggauges. At 12.30 on April 25, we went to reception, no staffs were there at the reception desk at that time. We waited a while and decided to ask for help from a guy (his name is Lukas) who was sitting at the office without concerning whether there were a guest outside. We politely asked him to call us the shuttle bus as we read from the review and hotel website (as picture attached), he told us that we have to wait until 1300 as schedule in which making us feeling worried about missing the flight for another city. During we were waiting, we asked one lady staff (who just went back to the office) about the shuttle bus, she at first said that she will call the shuttle bus for us. So when she walked back to the reception desk, a guy name Lukas spoke in different language (in which is considered not polite as we were english speaking guest there). Then she laughed with Lukas and told us that we have to wait in which was different from what she told us that she will call the shuttle van. We waited until 1310, the shuttle bus did not arrive. Then I asked them again to help for checking, they refused and said that we have to wait. Then, I asked whether this is how the good hotel provided guest with this unacceptable service and behavior. They were both laughing to us and went back to the office inside.....This is the worst service ever we received from the hotels as we travelled a lot around the world. We considered this is kind of racism in providing service to asian people....Also, they shut the door and not allow us to get inside the reception area while kept laughing. I do hope that the hotel owner should considered whether this is appropriate that staffs do this to customers? If the hotel does not want to accept asian people, you should do so, rather than providing bad experienced service and do racist kind of things to customers.... I am going to report this issue directly to the ministry of tourism concerning this issue also. I do hope that this should be the last case the hotel provide this bad service to customers.
