Great location great hotel
Stayed here for a week in February 2017. The hotel is a ski in ski out experience right on the slopes which in itself is great. The room was very nice and spacious , bathroom adequate with separate laterine very well kept clean and relatively new. Beds comfortable for those who like soft but back supporting beds. Beautiful view from our room only added to things.
Some extra lighting on the cupboard side of the room would have been helpful as it was pretty dark looking inside the cupboard (we were in room 201)
We stayed in the secondary building not in the main hotel building and there is really no difference as the buildings are fully connected through an underground corridor.
Food was very good and as we ate vegetarian the staff went out of their way to make sure we were pleased. The only disappointment was that you are not permitted to bring your own bottle of wine even if you are prepared to pay corkage.
All in all we had a lovely week here and if you are looking for a ski in ski out experience in Schladming this place is really worth considering.

This quiet hotel is located right on the slopes with wonderful views of the Dachstein mountains. Perfect for ski in ski out? Great room, fabulous food and very helpful staff. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Great hotel in Schladming
The hotel is located on the mountain overlooking Schladming with the most amazing view. Outstanding hospitality, friendly staff, clean, good breakfast & dinner, modern sauna area. You can enjoy staying with children.

Very good family-run hotel
Stayed here recently for a week's skiing holiday. We were very pleased with our choice of hotel: good food, spacious room (immaculately clean), nice spa, ski-in / ski-out for downhillers, polite and helpful staff. The afternoon tea/coffee and cake were very popular with guests: apple strudel and cream is not to be missed! Probably the only facility lacking was a nice log fire to sit around in the evenings after dinner.
Rohrmoos is a better place to stay than Schladming for ease of access to the 4 mountains in the local area IMO, though if you don't have a skipass and need to use the buses they are not terribly frequent. My wife did x-country skiing: there are 2 lovely valleys nearby (Obertal & Untertal) but the former was closed due to lack of snow. Lovely for walking though. By far the best area for x-country is in Ramsau across the valley, some 4 miles north of Schladming where there is a massive international x-country centre.
For downhill skiers, don't miss a half-day on the Dacstein glacier (accessible by free skibus) for the superb views from nearly 3000m.

Wonderful skiing holiday!
Schladming is a charming little Austrian town, with endless possibilities for hiking and skiing, on many hills around it. It belongs to the SKI AMADE region with lots of slopes.
Burgfellnerhof is situated above Schladming, in village Rohrmoos, right next to the ski slope and ski chair-lift.
My husband and me had a great skiing package: January 'PAUSCHAL' deal with half board and ski-pass included and had stayed in Guest house Fischbacher. Room had the separate toilet and bathroom and was well cleaned and vacuumed daily.
Food was very good incl. buffet breakfast and 4-course dinner with appetizer, soup, main course and dessert, as well as (always fresh) salad buffet. One can choose from 3 different main courses, one night ahead.
The wellness consists of: Sauna, Tepidarium, Infrared, Herbal Sauna and Turkish baths - good to relax in, after a good day skiing.
If hotel would have a working Jacuzzi and at least a small gym, nothing else could be asked for.
Room, where ski boots and helmets are stored in, is heated, so the next morning the equipment is always dry and ready to use.
WI-FI is free in the main lobby, where you can order from different coffees and liquors. And in the hotel bar, next to the lobby, one can even smoke, after dinner time.
Owners were almost all the time near-by and very helpful. Small extras (incl. in special packages) like complimentary sparkling wine, one use of solarium and tasting of Austrian strudel and coffee were just a very nice add-on.
It was very peaceful that week when we stayed. Most probably, there were no major Austrian school holidays and only couples visited.
And staff was really professional and welcoming.
Really nice experience!
