Clean, Friendly & Good Quality
Stayed here with 16 friends in March.
The reception staff were very helpful and always greeted us with a smile.
Waiting staff were great. Breakfast and evening meals were also great with plenty of choice. Don’t be put off by “buffet style” because the food was hot, varied and plentiful with a couple of hand carved options every night. Dining room was very hot, we learnt not to overdress for meals, but still very hot. However the staff brought lots of beer and wine to help cool us down.
Our double room (with balcony) was simple, clean and adequate. It was cleaned everyday.
We stayed and ate in the annex building.
Two nights during our stay we had pizza in the main building, again this was excellent.
We visited the bar in the main building every night after our evening meal. Alex (Barman) was great, serving his own recipe cocktails with his views and comments on life in general and entertaining everyone in earshot.
The ski hire shop (Alpin Sport) under the hotel was great. I had issues with my boots halfway through the stay and Tony went out of his way to ensure I was sorted out, replacing my boots and even loaning me an additional pair of skis because I had stored mine in a locker at the gondola station. Great service !
We all enjoyed our ski holiday all 17 of us. Thank you Hotel Alpin !!!

Just returned from 1 week ski holiday in Scheffau. First time in this resort. generally very happy with the hotel. The staff were excellent, especially Alex (aka Sikander) the bar man. He makes a mean G&T. Real showman and very friendly. The food was generally very good. Great Pizzas and the carvery was also excellent. Could have done with a bit more choice at breakfast, especially croissants or pastries. Also the staff at breakfast were really stretched. They could do with more help!
Paid for a superior room which was located in Alpin 2. And here's the rub, the leisure facilities were in Alpin 1. So after enjoying a sauna, had to brace the very cold temperatures to return back to our room. And boy the temperature were low (below -10 C). I believe a rebuild programme is imminent. I hope this issue is resolved. Otherwise very happy with the stay.

Good base for skiing with very....
We stayed here for our skiing holiday in February. The room was simple, but had a very comfortable bed, nice shower, balcony and good storage area. The deal was excellent-half-board plus afternoon tea (soup, rolls, cold meat, cakes etc) and house, wine, beer and soft drinks included from 6-9pm. The buffet was very good, with an excellent roast meat option carved by the chef each night and a good array of other dishes. Starters and desserts had less choice, but still good. The ski bus stopped almost opposite the hotel and took us close to the ski lift. Staff were friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was too busy in the evening, but fine from 3-5pm and the spa had saunas and a steam room, but no jacuzzi. Little to do in Scheffau after skiing, but hotel would be excellent for families and those not looking for a lot of apres-ski

Outstanding Hotel !!
We stayed here in February 2018 on a ski trip.
The Hotel Alpin is outstanding in every way, you will not be disappointed.
Excellent food, spotlessly clean and the staff are at the top of their game and extremely helpful..
There is nothing that can be faulted with this hotel, it was excellent from start to finish. We will definately be back next year, or maybe this year if we can get another ski holiday in before the season ends :)

Enjoyable january stay
All the positive reviews for this hotel are accurate ; just a couple of minor caveats.
The great bits....
Service is exemplary from all staff , and the food excellent and copious; the afternoon snacks may tempt you off the slopes early/spoil your dinner appetite.
The food is all buffet , not my preferred style, but the quality is excellent with a couple of carvery-style offerings each night .Make sure you try the venison.
The inclusive drinks are a handy offering, and seem to be on an extendable rubber clock, despite the advertised 1800-2100
The staff in the ski shop are/ speak excellent english and are very helpful.
As advertised the hotel is in a quiet area; there are a couple of bars within 100m but the scene is very quiet. Most people stayed in the hotel at nights, but the bars are worth a go; the first one up the hill isnt open on a sun & mon. If you are after apres ski, do it at the slopes at 16.15 or get a taxi to soll (20e each way)
The only caveats to the great reviews are that whilst the hotel is described as virtually ski in/out, it isnt.
You can ski down across a pisted meadow but then need to yomp a couple of hundred yards uphill over an icy track/ carpark to the lift, and the slope is not connected to the main resort so you cant ski back to the hotel.Catch the bus at the hotel its a a lot less hassle.
If youre in the main hotel , and wish to go to the spa / main dining room , you have to cross the carpark. The spa is functional but has probably seen better days compared to whats on offer in other austrian hotels.
There is a multi-million pound spa development starting 2018 , which looks like it will more than remove these issues .As with all austrian spas , you need to let "it all hang out"
The english language tv wasnt available during our stay , bring a usb stick if thats your thing.
