Best place to stay for Sound O....
From the beginning you step on the Villa, you can see a lot of the Von Trapp’s Families pictures. The real von Trapp...
The Ambience make you go back and could imagine the differences between the story and the real one. And still fascinated with the stories.
The location of this place is only 4 minutes walking to the nearest train station / bus stops. And its only 15-20 minutes ride away from the old town of Salzburg.
The staff were not always in the villa, but they are very helpful and friendly. And if you are lazy and would like to take taxi to the Villa, they were very well-known.
Great experience... Nice stay indeed

Uneasy feeling and scary exper....
I'm not a skeptical or spiritual person, however I had no sleep in the house due to loud footsteps walking up and down the corridor. The censored lights never turned on however as they always did when we walked down the corridor, made me feel sick to my stomach. We also had a very strange experience late one night. We came home from town and I used the downstairs toilet, the whole hotel in darkness. My partner who is even more skeptical than me and does not believe in the paranormal at all waited for me in the downstairs corridor and was startled when something strange happened from a original room which was closed off from guests that was locked and in darkness (no light under the door). the door handled started turning and rattling strongly and loudly then stopped, he called out to see if someone was stuck and heard nothing else he listened closely for movement and footsteps but nothing. he didn't tell me this until weeks after as he noticed I was getting panicked about the late night footsteps and the anxiousness I'd get late at night, he would never lie about this as he is always quick to disregard any idea of ghosts and mock it. I didnt realise the history of the house until he told me about his experience. I'm giving it five stars as I'm sure lots of people will find this fun and some people like chasing these kind of things. Maybe we were going mad, who knows. Apart from that the stay was standard, nothing to rant and rave about.

History, beauty, hospitality!
We had the good fortune to stay in this scenic and historic hotel on our wintery trip to Austria. The hotel managers, Christoph and Marianne, were delightful and full of historical background, delivered with genuine enthusiasm. The Sound of Music tour will not take you to this home, which is the core of the REAL story behind the movie. Our room was beautifully appointed, and breakfast was very European - strong coffee, baked goods, cold and hot treats to suit all palettes. We stayed in the roomy Edelweiss suite, with views over the grounds and of the mountains. Our three teenage children were enamored with the whole experience. What an amazing location, just a few minutes by taxi into the Old Town, but a lovely escape steeped in history!

A nice room, but small, with a comfortable bed. Be sure and ask for an oscillating fan, extra pillows and a wash cloth! This house has an impressive history and it's worth the price to stay here! Go visit!

We stayed here for one night of our long weekend break and loved every minute. We had stayed the previous night in a much larger hotel but had we have known we would definitely have spent both nights here.
The reception is not open all day, but before we arrived we had a call to say where our keys would be left. When we arrived we were overwhelmed by our room. We stayed in the sound of music suite which was huge with an amazing view of the mountain.
The owner came to see us later that evening to make sure we had everything we needed.
At breakfast the next morning the staff were very friendly and knowledable about the house giving us a quick history lesson which was fascinating. She also gave us some excellent advice about where to spend our day before heading off to the airport.
We will certainly be returning. Thank you Villa Trapp for am amazing stay.
