Excellent family hotel
We stayed here for couple of days. You will enjoy great views from the balcony over the whole valley. The owners are very nice, very open and have good hiking tips.
The breakfast was just fantastic.
Location is perfect - close to the main square with coup,e of good restaurants, with good access to hiking trails and still quiet.

Cozy, great views
The entire pension is super clean. Very cozy, rooms have nice furniture, comfortable beds and pillows. The breakfast is extremely nice. I will post pics. It consisted of: cold cuts, variety of cheese, spreadable cheese, so many types of bread, clean, purified water, milk, liver wurst, fruits, bio cereals, vegetables. One word: amazing. The tables presentation was classy. The lady owner would come in person to ask you what you wanted to drink, coffee, tea. They waited for us until late to check in. We forgot to ask about wifi (very important when travelling with teenagers and adult child), so I called them and they were readily available to answer any questions. The view from the balcony was stunning. We stayed there August 15-17, 2016. We can't imagine breakfast would change in a day from "only cheese" to what I've described. I would stay there over and over again.

Worst hotel I've ever slept
After we arrived we wanted to check in, but the woman who noted our booking spelled our last name wrong. She just made the whole last name different, it didn't even look like ours. The other woman tried to help us but she became stressed and angry. But after WE called the other woman we finally got our room. It was very old fashioned and smelled very odd. The bathroom was very very small, the shower was really bad because you needed to hold it otherwise all the water came at the wall and not on me. And when you used warm water there came an annoying high sound out of somewhere. The breakfast was really bad, just a (way too hard) bread with some cheese. Wifi connection didn't work when you sat on the balcony, only when you sat in the room. And they ask 12 euros for it?! Very bad hotel which is way overpriced!! You'll never see me here again, bye bye hotel alpenhof

Simple pension run by a young ....
I am writing this to correct a review you have posted for this hotel stating that it is a 20 min drive from Kitzbuhel. This is not the same Alpenhof that we stayed at in Lermoos, Austria which is 2 hours to the West, near Garmisch and the Zugspitze in Germany!
We were actually there in late June 2009 and it was a clean, plain, comfortable chalet with perhaps 12 rooms, a little garden on the side run by a young family. The breakfast buffet in the morning was very pleasant and included lovely home made jams in addition to a vast array of Austrian breakfast fare. You could walk out right behind the chalet and past a few private houses to a whole network of hiking paths with beautiful views of the Zugspitze, the Y shaped valley and the surrounding flowering meadows and mountains. Even a beautiful rainbow the day we were there! Our room was a little small but fine. Parking under the hotel. Quiet. Walk to downtown 5 min.

Good quality 3 star
Good quality, very clean three star hotel of approx 20 rooms, 200m from centre of town of Westendorf and 300m from main chair lift. Refer website: www.westendorf.net/alpenhof/. Family run and typically Austrian - spartan, continental breakfast, limited front office etc. Main feature is the briliiant restaurantl. Booking essential in season, and offers traditional Austrian faire plus Italian. Staff v helpful though limited English which actually creates atmosphere. No self catering facilities in rooms which have shower no bath and all have double glazing on windows and oil panel heaters. Rooms would be considered 2 star in US though in Europe / Ski is 3 star. Limited other facilities ie child care, ski hire, taxi services etc from the hotel though all of these abundant in village. Apart from restaurant, best attribute proximity to all parts of town - admittedly Westenhorf is a smaller ski resort. Overall skiiing good with sufficient ski lifts to move everyone up the mountain. As with all of Europe over this Dec / Jan 07 period snow is limited. On mountain, numerous restaturants, bars etc and v frrendly town folk (enough English spoken to get by). Ideal hotel and resort for families, groups of friends etc wanting atmosphere, min distance between everything and not "glitzy" though sufficent apres ski to saistify most. Lots of local Austrians, Dutch and Germans with the usual smatering from UK, Ireland and SA. Kitzbuhel is a 20min taxi drive or can ski across. Recommend extending ski pass - which gets you access to numerous other resorts (incl Kitzbuhel etc) all with 40min free ski bus trip.
