The best place to stay in Aust....
My son and I have stayed in the Hotel Schrannenhof several times before and over this time, it has gone from being a 'brilliant place to stay' to being a 'super-brilliant place to stay':-)
The Family Veit who own and run the hotel have everything just perfect.
Believe me, there is no better place to stay in all Austria than the Hotel Schrannenhof, because its service, cleanliness, attention to detail, assistance, information, breakfast and dinner, friendliness of the people who work there and of those who visit there..together make its home comforts pure 'Gemütlichkeit'.
Look it up. Both the word and the Hotel :-)
I've been visiting Austria for decades and decades and I know this place IS simply the best!
I'll be back:-)

It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. We were there only one night but it was worth it. Very friendly and helpful staff, tasty food and more. Recommend to all who want to spend a night in historic building.

Wonderful stay at the historic....
We really enjoyed our 5-night stay here. The hotel has all it promises. There is a speedy and efficient transportation to Vienna (30 mins consisting of bus + metro), fast internet and wonderful staff. The historical building is tastefully furnished and the atmosphere is perfect. It is serene and pleasant, the courtyard garden relaxing and quiet, yet the hotel is in the middle of the town. Breakfast lived to its reputation – a great variety of quality, many home-made, products, meats, cheeses, beautiful eggs, pates and spreads, including vegetarian pates and hummus, house-made jams and local honey, beautiful pastries (that I did not try, but my husband did on the last day and praised) all prepared with care. We did use the free bikes one morning, and the ride into the vineyard hills was lovely. One of those really nice places to come back to.

What a truly brilliant place t....
This was the 3rd time that we have stayed in the Hotel Schrannenhof, it was truly brilliant in every way and my family and I will definitely be back to stay here again and again!
The attention to detail was excellent and the customer care was superb. The hotel building is so historic and beautifully picturesque, yet the accommodation is of a super quality and very up to date. The people who run the Hotel and work there are simply the best, with Sabine the best of the best! The whole experience for us over our three week stay, was full of the Austrian tradition of 'Gemütlichkeit' making it an unforgettable experience. We were so welcomed and so well looked after, we felt as if we were part of the 'family' and I think that every guest must have felt the exact same way. Breakfast was really a great start to the day and our evening meals, next door in Cafe Veit were so delicious. On our last day, Sabine's mother gave me as a farewell present a book on Viennese Cuisine. It just about summed it all up..what a terrific place to stay with very caring and thoughtful hosts. I recommend the Hotel Schrannenhof as perhaps the very best place I have ever stayed in Austria..and I have been visiting this country for decades :-)
A very BIG thanks to you Sabine, your Mum and Dad (both a font of useful knowledge) and all of your staff (always friendly and with a smile:-) from Rab and Drew in Scotland. We certainly do look forward to staying with you again!
