Paradise location, amazing sta....
When I first turned up to Nomads Airlie Beach i instantly felt welcomed by the friendly staff, particularly Josiah, who was so helpful especially for a solo traveller like myself. The welcoming vibe was great, one of the managers called Hannah really went the extra mile for me which was lovely for a female travelling alone.
The rooms are spacious, clean and comfy. I even got a free upgrade on arrival.
Kitchen was clean and functional, although I ended up spending more time at the amazing bars they have on site! Boaty's is great for food, and I had one of the best nights of my travels at the Shed Bar Sunday Sesh.
Would recommend this to anyone, and will definitely be coming back again!

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT, SERVICE A....
We booked the hostel through our agency two months before. When we arrived to the hostel, a man was in the door. We told him that we had a booking under the name of X for 11 people. We don't know what was wrong with him but his behaviour was weird. We try patiently to explain him that we had two different rooms (because in the booking paper was written like this) and even our names were in their papers, he was giving us another key. After 30 min without taking any decision, our patient was gone and finally he brought us in the rooms 7-8 (the ones that we were supposed to have) but the rooms were full. UNBELIEVABLE!
After a loooong time waiting there (and to have in consideration it was 2am and we had to stay on a boat at 7:30) most of the group went to sleep in the car and some of us in a hotel next to Nomads.
Then, the manager came and both guys started to split us in a different rooms. So, 4 of us we slept in random rooms from 3am until 6:30am.
What's more we didn't have electricity. So, we couldn't close the doors because they were working with an electric key, and neither charging our staff, etc.
Two days after (when we came back from the excursion) we explained all what had happened to the Nomad's manager (Robbie). And he apologised and he offered us another accomodation in different cities but at that time we had everything already booked. So, he told us that he will give us a refund. After two months, we are STILL WAITING FOR THE REFUND and HE DOESN'T ANSWER NEITHER THE EMAIL NOR THE PHONE.

Campervan stay - very unclean ....
Firstly, just want to say I rarely rate so poorly on tripadvisor as I think everyone’s experiences can be so unique but feel like I should share this experience as it bothers me that people spend their hard earned money here to receive such a poor service!
Stayed here in the campervan slot, you are literally staying in a car park right next to other vans so you have 0 privacy. We got back late one night after adventuring around to find the group of people next to us leaning all over our van and chairs leaning against it and when they were leaving blind drunk falling forcefully into our van!
When we pulled up to our slot there was rubbish lying about and to my horror i stepped out onto a used condom that had flies smothering it (urgh).
the ‘amenities’ block at the bottom, OMG disgusting !!! Absolutely filthy even though they were apparently ‘cleaned’ daily, most shower rooms have no hooks for you to hang your clothes on and not all the toilets have sanitary bins ?!?! Some toilets had just a standard bowl bin so you you can see other people’s used items !
One shower I got in, the cold tap didn’t even turn on and absolutely scolded me, the next one I got in, the hot tap fell off half way through so moved along to the next one and it was leaking EVERYWHERE, all out the door into the next room so moved into ANOTHER shower and there was a hole in the floor but at least the shower worked to a degree!
Oh and there was a girl with brown hair, foreign accent who ‘cleaned’ the toilets in the mornings who would block off a whole side who weirdly wouldn’t let you use them, even though she had finished? And was snotty and rude on more than one occasion. Yesterday our van had broke down and she could see roadside assistance help us, I went to use the toilet and she rudely came running up to me saying “NO! NO! You mustn’t use, got to other ones.” And pulled a face whilst wafting a dirty cloth in my face. So I explained our van had broke down and couldn’t leave the guy with all our stuff and we were really behind schedule and politely asked if she could allow me but no all I got was rudeness and her slamming the door even though she was cleaning the toilet 5 doors down and made me walk to the other block of toilets, leaving a stranger with all of our possessions(nice one). What a joke!
The only reason we actually stayed here was because we were meeting 2 different groups of friends from home here on different nights so didn’t want to let them down.
During our stay we wanted to book Whitsundays so we waited at the travel desk for nearly an hour after being told that the lady Ali would be back in 30 mins she’s nipped into town, we then went grocery shopping and came back and still no sign? When we enquired at the desk we were told to go to Base to book with Mark . We were not the only people waiting.
Mark was really helpful and sorted us out straight away and our trip was unreal so thanks Mark for your help.
Only good thing about this hostel is Mark, some reception staff and the location, I have stayed in plenty of hostels and this was shocking. Oh and the WiFi is none existent.
