Organised caravan park in a gr....
This park is very well organised with lots of activities on the go and staff that are only too happy to make suggestions and book tours. We had our trip out to White Haven Beach all sorted in a few minutes. There are great facilities and we opted for the ensuite powered site which was so convenient and right behind our campsite. It was also well located and across the road from the pub which was situated on the water. All in all, a great place to stay.

The toilets/showers/kitchens were always extremely clean for the two nights I stayed here. And reception staff friendly and helpful.
However upon arrival our tent clearly hadn’t been cleaned whatsoever, having worked for a holiday park myself I would never have allowed a customer to enter the tent in the condition it was in. Also a bit petty but why close off the shower/toilet block to clean at 9am-10am when 10am is checkout time and people clearly want to shower and get ready during this time...

Great destination for a comfor....
My husband and I stayed overnight, then was able to leave our car secured, and parked for free because we stayed there.... whilst bus transport was provided to Shute Harbour where we set off to Long island for a few days. We were able to relax knowing our car was safe and secure. On our return, our hosts were very helpful and found our car well cared for in our absence. Overnight room was very comfortable and adequate.

Disappointing, sub-standard fa....
We hired a Maui Campervan last November and stayed at 10 different camp sites between Townsville & Bribie Island. This was by far the worst experience.
We'd booked to stay here for 2 nights as we'd planned a sailing trip around the Whitsundays, but due to storm conditions our sailing trip was cancelled so we decided to only stay one night & head for Hervey Bay. We had pre-paid, did NOT expect a refund of the 2nd night & didn't ask for one as we were aware of the policy regarding refunds.
When we booked in, the nice young girl told us we were due to get a small discount of about AU$8 as we had a hire campervan.
We mentioned this discount when we checked out & the older woman with glasses sneered at us saying "ha, it doesn't quite work like that". We clarified that we knew we wouldn't be entitled to a refund of the 2nd night, but that a small discount due to us having a hire van had been mentioned when we checked in. She was having none of it & made us feel like we were trying to get something for nothing, even though we didn't even ask for a refund of the 2nd night.
The bathroom & shower facilities here were absolutely awful & I didn't feel clean after showering there. We had a very large 6 berth campervan & every site offered to us had a large tree which made it extremely difficult to manoeuvre into - my husband owns a large truck for his business and still struggled.
It's a 20 minute walk from here to any decent restaurants/bars, nothing would make me recommend this camp site. It was the only time we encountered rudeness during our month in Australia.

Nice site but under renovation....
The site is situated approximately 1.5 km south of the Airlie Beach centre and is easily found adjacent to a roundabout on the main road not far from the Ferry Cruise Terminal.
The staff here were really helpful and although we arrived on speck, were able to give us a pitch for three nights for the price of two ($80.)
We were told that one of the amenities blocks was under renovation and therefore, out of action, but wasn't told that other building work was taking place, so the site is probably not looking at it's best at the moment.
The rest of the amenities were open; shower blocks were spotless, laundry facilities plentiful but only one camp kitchen facility available.
As the site was busy, we had to queue up to cook and wash dishes but it wasn't a big deal.
If camping or in a van, shade is at a premium and lacking slightly (we found this a tiny issue partly because it was exceptionally hot!)
I am sure the site will be fully completed for the high season and others will reap the benefits of the upgrade.
p.s... really enjoyed the spectacle of a flock of lorikeets enjoying their 4pm feed.
