Beautiful Historic Buildings
Called in to visit the Low Head Lighthouse and stopped off to have a look at the pilot station.
The buildings have been well preserved and there are some nice photo opportunities.
You can stay in the the cottages if you want accommodation.
The cottages were used to house the pilots for shipping.
Well worth a visit

A wonderfully presented site
Green lawns surrounded by restored original buildings against the backdrop of the estuary. Fantastic! Small cafe is a life saver after some sightseeing. The museum is worth the modest charge. Have a picnic or just wander around.

second visit and enjoyed it bo....
been to the pilot station twice now with different family members and we have all enjoyed it each time. it is well laid out and with plenty to look at.
the price to get in was better than reasonable and volunteers more than willing to share a story or two which added to the experience.
The café was another story and was a bit disappointing but the pilot station museum made up for that.

Something Different but in nee....
Spent 3 nights in the Boatmen Crew Cottage.
While we appreciated this unique experience we were surprised at the lack of care for this heritage listed building. And it really lacked the little touches that make staying in a property more pleasant. There was no soap holder in the shower, only one bedside table with a broken light on it, the toilet brush handle was broken, the walls were dirty and we had to clean off the dust. The switch of the power point in lounge was broken and smashed and the smoke alarm covers were hanging open with no batteries. Please God they were using another form of smoke detection that we were not aware of. Kitchen was very basic and bed not very comfortable, it was squeaky and hard.
All in all disappointing

Fantastic bit of history
Very clean & comfortable. Also modern kitchen & bathroom (shower & separate big tub in one of the largest bathrooms I have seen in my travels). Plenty of space. The building was built in 1860, but is completely renovated. 2 foot thick walls keep out the wind. The museum was interesting and engaging. There is a little penguin colony adjacent. Very interesting and historical place to stay. Definitely want to come back again.
