Service above & beyond
We lucked in when our travelling companions suggested staying here on our road trip around Tassie! We arrived into a very impressive cottage with little touches like the heater on for our arrival and the open fire all set up with instructions to get us going. We stayed in Victoria’s cottage and our friends stayed in Miss Maude’s
They are clean, well equipped and filled with wonderful antique furniture and period features to add to their charm. Whilst situated on the highway we did not notice the traffic once we settled down for the night. We were advised to stop at the IGA store in Wynyard on the way to stock up on supplies. Necessities such as marshmallows to toast in the fire were provided for us
plus the extendable forks for this which are included with your cottage. We were very impressed and given more time would have stayed a bit longer. Glenn the owner kept in touch and made our stay memorable. We highly recommend Killynaught Spa Cottages to anyone travelling in this area and the location adds to the charm and gives you a feeling of being a part of the wilderness of Tasmania but with your own luxury accommodation to enjoy it from! We felt this was tremendous value and would definitely return given the opportunity to do so and to try out the Spa bath!

We returned to Killynaught as we had so enjoyed our time there a few years ago. However, we were very disappointed this time. The cottage was not very clean, lights did not work and I found I was cleaning cutlery and crockery before using it. Although someone had been in the night before us, the cottage had a musty, dusty odour. The remote for the television was missing, and although free WiFi is advertised on the website, it isn't stated that it is only available at the restaurant. There were a number of other things that we noticed too, but don't want to be too critical. We did enjoy the staff and our meal at the nearby Seabreeze. I doubt we will return to the cottages after this stay.

On a highway
What is it with Tasmanian businesses building accommodation on highways and busy roads? Just leaving Stanley and one of the noisiest b@b's i have ever stayed at to Killynaught!
Quaint little cottages all look like they have always been there!
Old and full of character
Bed was cosy and comfortable
Breakfast was great
It is on a highway! And i mean a stones throw from the Bass Highway!
Trucks travel all night long!

Best of both worlds
This place is a hidden treasure..my late mum put me onto them several years ago,as it was a great break away for the weekend. My husband and I enjoyed the drive to them and the country hospitality in this neck of the woods was outstanding. Not only do you take a journey back in yesteryear, the food is fresh from the paddocks around you and the peace and tranquility adds to the romance and fresh air yet, you are not far from the larger towns, that dot this area.Depending on which cottage you get, there is a fresh breakfast in the kitchen for you,of fresh farm eggs, bacon, butter and bread.Theres milk and sherry also and wood for the fireplace, which is an added touch to the atmosphere of the place, especially when you are from a warmer climate.I highly recommend this accomodation, especially for a special weekend, retreat or honeymoon..

Only if you must
We stayed one night as we were exhausted from travelling and didn't really know what was ahead. It was sufficient for the night, but it could not be classed as exceptionally clean or exceptionally great. Nothing really in walking distance, no shops, no local sightseeing. Just a place to stay which needs a bit of work to get it out of the old-school which is really just outdated.
