Love the township of George Town. And an added bonus with a lovely motel. We had a comfortable bed, a lovely breakfast and a lovely view from our room of the bay. Just beautiful. Would recommend this motel to all, especially meeting the local publican was a treat.

Functional and comfortable eno....
Room was a two-bedroom apartment located away from the main building/pub, this gave it additional privacy. Room was spacious, clean and functional, if a little outdated. Comfortable walking distance to shops and main street. Nice view of foreshore, close to jetty to do some fishing. A bit of noise between 10:30pm and 11:30pm with locals talking/shouting in foreshore area.
Door knob was loose, did not feel secure. Could not connect to wi-fi, no network could be detected (reported to reception next morning). The bedroom in the living area has no wardrobe or clothes rack to hang clothes or luggage rack, the other bedroom does.
Although the room amenities generally adequate, other accommodation across Tasmania offer much better (modern) appointed rooms at the same price or less.
Pub meal was OK. Chicken parmigiana a good size, the salmon was cooked well but sitting in a pool of watery (citrus or soy?) sauce that didn't complement it. Fish and chips from the takeaway pub menu not good value (mostly chips).

Hotel looks and feels old. Res....
We stayed here one night, The hall carpets were worn and smelled. In our room windows either had to be propped open, or would not open at all. Also had a poor experience in their restaurant. This place clearly needs more competition. My wife's steak, ordered rare, came thoroughly charred. We made the mistake of having breakfast there. For $14 each, we had by far our worst continental breakfast so far in Australia. This was a real rip-off.

Great location for a lunch
We arrived just before two o’clock thinking we might not get served. Very relaxed no nines service was followed by some surprisingly fresh and tasty burgers. We went into the ‘bottle’ and got some great local advice on what to see and where to go.

Great view, great food and com....
My room (10) is lovely. On the first floor of the hotel itself, it has a nice view across the bay. Comfy, clean and fresh furniture and decor. My meal in the bistro was delicious, with friendly service.
