Good place to stay.
We liked the place and everything we needed was there. The owners are friendly and one can park in front of the huts. For my personal liking, there were a few too many spiders, which was probably only bad luck and I wouldn't expect it to be a regular thing. Bed was comfy. I recommend this as a place to stay when traveling along the coast. Sights are close.

Great seaside location, helpfu....
We stayed here for four nights, and it was an ideal base for day trips to Bay of Fires, St Columba Waterfall, Bicheno, and Coles Bay. We had the roadside unit (#5) which had views of the ocean. The sea was just a few minutes walk away, and there are couple of corner shops close by. Loved hearing the sound of the ocean.
Facilities were very good - two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, and small dining/living area. Vicky was VERY helpful and eager to please. The oven was broken, despite her attempts to get an electrician (busy time of year), so she let us borrow a portable one. Microwave and stove were fine. Only negatives were occasional sound of laundry (behind) and smell of cigarette smoke (next door). Very good overall, and ideal for us - 2 adults and 4 kids.

Exploring the East Coast of Ta....
Decided to spend 2 days in Scamander after treatment at NWRH Burnie. We stayed in Unit 1 of Carmens Inn, at the back of the property, which is in a very quiet location with restricted sea views. Car parking was available in front of the unit on the grass, which detracted a little from the view. The Unit is very dated, but VERY clean and cosy. The queen bed was comfortable, but pillows questionable. Everything you might need was in the unit. The kitchen was well equipped with fridge, microwave, and old style stove top and oven (that had a hook to keep the oven door shut).
The only negative was that the tiled floors were slippery, in both the entrance area, and the bathroom and toilet floors. It made no difference whether our shoes were on or off, we both slid around on the tiled floors. This was a problem in the shower, where soap or shampoo made the floors worse, and trying to shower hanging onto the shower pole was quite a task. Whether the floors had been washed with a product that left them residually slippery is unknown. However this could have been disastrous if my husband were to fall while traversing the tiled floors, as we were over in Tasmania for back treatment at the time. We were made very welcome by Caretaker Vicki, and we did report the floor issue to Vicki before leaving. Apart from the floors, we did enjoy our stay.
