Great stay near snow.

Sorry for the late review. We stayed here in July last year . Yep the rooms dont have a tv ( didnt have time to watch anyway), room didnt have a fridge as well ( left drinks in back of car didnt need the fridge , winter time !!!!!. ) We had the best time here , you didnt have to drive to ski field as the bus service provided took care of that . The ski hire shop on site made it easy to get anything sorted if the equipment wasnt right . A big thanks here for Dave and Roxanne for going out of their way to fit out my wife who had issues with ski boot fitment ( you made her holiday). There is 2 options for tea , 1 was canteen style which was good , but i enjoyed the griil , once you get use to cooking on a BBQ with other people its great . Great food selections and great side dishes. You can upgrade the kids selection for a few extra $ , but worth it. Breakfast is served in the canteen style eatery, they do serve the food up for you , it is abit different if your not use to it , but it makes it quicker and also for hygiene . The entertainment they have every night is great as well , a bit of everthing happening. The bar area was a great place to have drinks after tea and relax after a hard day crashing thru the slopes. The staff at Ski Rider did a fantastic job , happy friendly and went out of their way to help. Our room may have been on the older side of things , it still was comfortable, the shower was hot. If you want 5 star resort accomadation , this place is not for you. But if you want to have a great stress free sking holiday , great food and a great lot of people to look after you , than this is it. Compared to where we stayed the year before , Ski Rider is a 100 times better. ( can you tell i had the best holiday ever because of the great place Ski Rider is??)

Sad tired and past its heyday

The accommodation is very dated. No TV, and worn old pine beds. It is in the middle of nowhere so you have to eat and drink there. The canteen (It is not a restaurant) doesn't like your children choosing! You get that one or that one. "Could my daughter just have bacon as she want to make a bacon sandwich?" "No!" "Well could she have 3 pieces then as the bacon is very small?" "come back when everyone has finish!!" Felt like throwing the food as the cook with his earring and tattoos. This accommodation is great for homeless people. STAY CLEAR IT WILL RUIN YOUR HOLIDAY

Extraordinary value for money

We returned to the Ski rider after 26 years, were very happy to find that the atmosphere was very welcoming. The staff bent over backwards to help whenever we asked. The food was both plentiful and delicious. I can't believe how cheap it was. It snowed every night we were there, what a treat. Multiple free buses provide transport to and from Perisher and Smiggens daily so no need to worry about parking or driving in the snow. All in all we had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning next year. A great big thank you to Roxanne the manager who last we saw was out shovelling snow with the rest of the staff.
