Wildlife in abundance, water s....
We traveled at the end of October and we stayed in a cabin on the headland, situated about 30 meters directly above the main beach at Nambucca, looking out into the Tasman sea. The soft ocean sounds below us helped us get the most refreshing deep sleep during our stay. The cabin facilities were excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful.
The sunrises were spectacular and the view North towards Coffs harbour was also great. Better still humpback whales were migrating down the coast and we saw well over 80 during the week, some from the cabin windows. I cannot describe the feeling of eating breakfast while watching whales 10-15 Meters long jump out of the ocean!! many had young calves with them and they were breaching, tail slapping fin slapping and spy hopping. From the park itself and around the township I identified 47 bird species, there were also fruit bats at night and a couple of large goannas visit the edge of the park, a great sight. Asian house geckos were seen out on the generous veranda which has a 2 seat couch, 2 lounge chairs and coffee table. We were not bothered by flies or mosquitoes during our week there. Being on the headland allowed us to watch the weather as a couple of thunderstorms moved offshore some kilometers up the coast crackling with lightning, very spectacular. There are many options for water sports from swimming at top rated local beaches, fishing, surfing, boating, paddle boarding and canoeing. There are good facilities at the beaches, toilets, showers etc. A major advantage of this park was how quiet it was. 10,000 people live in Nambucca heads. There is a large amount of tourist accommodation adding to the numbers. The town has a good range of options for restaurants and cafes and at least one store that sells oysters from the Nambucca river, right next to the store. (they were delicious) The main street itself, an easy walk from the park, is quite busy and bustling but where we were located, at the end of a road with no through traffic, meant there was very little car or pedestrian traffic and the oceans soft sound cancelled any traffic noise anyway. My only problem was the slow internet speeds mentioned by other reviewers. We will be returning to this park, we had a great holiday there.

Simple but nice park
Stayed here to attend the Rusty Iron Rally at Macksville. The park is on 2 levels so if you have mobility issues ask for a site on the same level as the amenities block. Some sites have concrete slabs but most don't. The unpowered section is a bit of a walk to the amenities but is set in such a lovely shady and grassy area. Amenities are well maintained and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No site or cabin actually has a sea view but because the park sits on a sort of cliff top the view of the ocean below is across from the office and is gorgeous. There is a steep walk down to the beach or hop in the car down to the car park and surf life saving club. Short drive to local shops and supermarket. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely quiet park in a natural....
Hubby and I along with our dog stopped here for 2 nights on our way home to Melbourne from Hervey Bay. It is difficult to find dog friendly places but this place was just perfect. We stayed in a modern, well appointed, spacious cabin with a queen bed and extra bunk bed. There was a comfy couch and tv with Foxtel as well! A small dining table for 4 and an enclosed balcony with table and chairs.....great for small children and dogs! The kitchen had everything we needed.
There is a path down to a beautiful beach that is dog friendly and off lead. The park grounds are well maintained and the gardens and lawns are lovely. We would happily stay here again if we are ever in the area.

Luxurious pet friendly cabin
Cabin was very luxurious with ocean view and pet friendly. Loved the enclosed verandah, very secure and we could all still and enjoy the fantastic view. Walk to beach was an added bonus - loved it.It was a one night stop over on our way up the coast and we will be back. Definitely recommend for pet owners wanting somewhere to stay that is set up for your dog.

Excellent park for friends and family. So many beach walks and sign posts letting you know about indigenous heritage. Just amazing. Don't swim unless there are lifesavers though as the seas are treacherous
