Average hotel, some poor worke....

The proximity of this hotel to the mountain and the village is ideal and a huge plus. The room I stayed in was average and the buffet breakfast was pretty nice. The lounge felt cosy and views from the lounge were beautiful, especially when watching the sunset. The kitchen (?) wouldn't allow for changes to meals. Eg. My brother ordered nachos but he didn't want the guac, but they wouldn't take if off? What's the big deal? He is just going to end up wasting it. But what if you had an allergy? It's just unnecessary to have such a stupid rule. Another thing to note is to have a wider variety of foods for gluten, dairy and meat free eaters. It was also completely ridiculous to pay $21 for a jug of lemonade that was filled mostly with ice!! However, my biggest problem was the wait staff. They were atrocious! They made disrespectful and snide remarks when delivering our meal because we complained that our pizza took 45mins to arrive, which is totally unacceptable to begin with. Usually workers are supposed to greet you with friendliness but not here. We had to initiate everything. I have done a lot of travelling and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with wait staff.

Ok But For The Resturant

For the price the hotel standard was acceptable. The outlook from the restaurant and bar is great. The policy of forgoing a room clean for a credit at the bar is a very good idea. The breakfasts were quite good. The evening meals were quite nice except for the following. Our big issue was with the policy of ordering our evening meals. We were two families that dined together each night. Splitting the bill was not allowed so each family would order immediately after one another. We would literally be standing side by side one another when ordering. Then the meals would come out a half an hour apart resulting in one family having eaten before the other family had started. This is complete rubbish outcome that happened on most occasions over the week stay. It detracted greatly from our holiday together. The root cause of the issue is not allowing splitting bills. Change that archaic and ridiculous policy and the problem goes away. It is time businesses with the electronics and a till full of money stopped putting the onus on individuals with a credit card and a few notes and coins to lower their workload. We also found the wait staff in the restaurant less that friendly from time to time as well. If fact the children in our group labeled them down right rude. We put it down to the fact that the season was nearly over and they had run out of good will. Perhaps they are like that all the time. Either way it reflects poorly on the hotel management for allowing the service to get to that state. I have hesitated to write this rather scathing review because we would stay there again mostly because of the proximity to the ski runs but if there is no change to the issues outlined above there will be no third chance and we will look elsewhere.

Ski trip 2017

It would be remiss of me not to provide a review of my stay at this hotel. Parking - great. Check in - great. Food - great. Room - a tad dated but comfortable for our stay. I can't fault the location, nor the staff. We had a brilliant time for the 5 nights we spent at The Man. My only gripe is probably to do with the size of the drying room. After a rainy day, space within the room was at a premium and things starting being tossed around, with some items remaining wet the next day. The ability to leave our car in the garage until 2pm on the day of check out was great as well. Simply had to move it to the car park nearby without any drama (as many people had already left Perisher by that time and parking was a breeze). All in all a fantastic holiday, so good we are planning on staying there again in 2018.

Family Friendly

Best location, strap the skis on at the door and you cabin ski straight to the lifts. Very friendly staff, could not fault the room, meals or service. The kids loved their meals and they were very kid friendly.

Great for families, friendly s....

I loved the friendly service at this place. The accommodation was fine, the food was very good, the location excellent. Great to have the underground car park. We will keep coming back. Kids liked the games area and the free toboggans available for use.
