Very basic,... VERY basic
We thought that "chalet" type of accommodation provides at least place for cooking! This place had absolutely nothing for cooking.
Rooms were old and so well maintained and in addition not very clean.
There was nobody in reception and we never met anyone from the staff during our 2 night stay. Our rooms were shown by two nice and friendly young rider girls after waiting for over an hour!
This place has potential for much better but looks like that owners want only "milk" the money out from their customers.
One more observation was that yard and parking lot was stinking,... And this presumably due to overflow of septic tanks - this very visible and noticeable in the mornings when people had been in toilet and shower.
Nice place ruined by bad management. Not recommended at least by Scandinavian standards.

Relaxing, easy going, no frill....
This is a nice lodge located off the beaten track. You definitely need a car to stay there. The small cottages are clearly showing the age and in the need of renovation, but the upkeep is fine - there is nothing majorly wrong with them. The beds are pretty comfy, the shower is hot, and there is basic cereal and toasts in the morning. the best place is the common room with super comfy couches - perfect for an evening drink and book reading. The owner is super nice and accommodating. One addition could be to provide a mobile phone number as the reception is unattended and it would be good to have a quick contact in case of any urgent matter. Very relaxing stay overall.

Easy location & accommodation
We stayed here on a trip to the snow, snow time is family time for us which means no tv & someone else cooks. Habitat fit the bill perfectly.
Sure it's not a 5 star resort, but it is a ski lodge, a comfy bed, hot showers, warm room, good food, somewhere to dry ski gear and easy to get to.
We will be back, can we make a special request for tempura vegetables next time!

Beautiful location, friendly p....
I booked at Habitat mostly because the price was more reasonable than other non-Jindabyne hotels, but really enjoyed my stay in a 6-bed room. Arnie was organised and friendly and kindly accommodating when I had to change my dates. The area is stunning and the stars so beautiful. Quick trip to the Ski Tube.
Despite the reviews I read, the showers were great and did NOT run out of hot water. You can have dinner in the restaurant for $35pp which was good food, and nice not to get back in the car to go out again after a day on the snow.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, I would stay again for sure.
