Great location in Carlton
Very clean comfortable accommodation. Staff are always most welcoming. Free car park is an added bonus. Close to Nova cinema & restaurants. Easy walking distance to Exhibition Building and gardens, Melb CBD & Vic market

We stayed at Lygon Lodge for the second time in 12 months last Saturday.
The location is fantastic, being right in the middle of Lygon Street which is full of amazing Italian restaurants. Parking is free, but it requires going around the block and down a narrow laneway. Once you find it, if there are no spots left, you will have to turn around and park at the carpark next door or find a spot on the street as parking cannot be booked. A small car is best as parking is quite tight.
We had a front room which is the most expensive, but it was spacious, clean & modern and the balcony is great taking in the vibe of Lygon Street. Noise was not a problem with the door shut. Its an easy walk or tram ride into the city and around the corner to the museum & Royal Exhibition Building.
We will certainly consider staying at Lygon Lodge again in the future.

Great spot to stay in the cent....
Tucked away in the middle of Lygon St this "Lodge" is more of a budget hotel with the parking downstairs and rooms upstairs. The front desk staff were great - super helpful and gave a smile and hello every time you went in. Parking is in the basement and is free which is a huge bonus. The rooms can only be accessed from the lift in the basement so it does look a bit odd when you go through the small front desk area, into the basement car park to get to the room lift. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet - but the view is just of of a concrete wall 3 feet away. Early arrival and a 4am checkout was no issue. I'll stay again..

Lovely two night stay!
We had a lovely two night stay here, in central Lygon Street, there is literally that many restaurants so close to this place, that you could eat forever! The experience of Lygon street is one that has to be discovered, and this hotel is definitely the one to stay at to do so! It's also very close to much of melbourne, with a few minutes walk to trams or anything else you want to do in Melbourne!
The accommodation itself is typical of Lygon Street, 24/7 staffed, with knowledgeable staff that are willing to help in any way possible. Comfortable, soft beds, multiple pillows available, tables, chairs, every room seems to have a balcony, which there might not be much to look at at the rear of the hotel, but the added space this ads to the room itself is awesome.
We went primarily for the Flower show that is held in Carlton Gardens, a short 2 block walk from the accommodation, which we easily managed, even on returning with multiple bags of purchases from the show. Also whilst we were there we attended a IMAX showing that is also near the gardens, again a easy walk. We had no end of choice for meals, with some open till midnight or later.
The room has cooking facilities, plus standard coffee/tea kettle and toaster available. Noise was not an issue, we stayed towards the rear of the hotel. Parking is limited, and you may have to park elsewhere, I suggest the old royal women's car park, cost us $28 for Friday-Sunday, vs the carpark next door was going to be $60+ a night. Rooms were clean and tidy, shower is very large and easily fit two into it. Towels were nice and fluffy.
We had a great weekend getaway, at a reasonable price, considering the amount of events on that weekend, including the Grand Prix. I would highly recommend you come and try this accomodation for yourself!

Great central spot
A fabulous place to base yourself, close to the city and transport. Surrounded by great places to eat. Rooms are basic but clean and have all you need. The only down side is the parking......first in best dressed as there is not a park allocated for each room.
If you go out at night there is not garante of a park on your return. All other parking nearby is timed easier after noon on Sats and Sundays. Our room was tot he side and we did not hear the street noise, might be different if you are facing the street.
