Long Term Stay – one month of ....

The location is ideal however the condition wasn’t. Shortage of towels, no broom, pan or mop. Lights burnt out. Inadequate kitchenware – bought dish towels, paring knife, sink stopper. Layers of dust throughout. Tub worn hard to clean. Carpets need replacing or at least professionally cleaned. Grease dripping out of kitchen fan. Above aircon massive amount dust & dirt. Cigarette butts and bird poop on balcony – swept and washed. Furniture old, worn & dusty.

Yeah, nah.

I bought a groupon to stay here and was not happy. When I asked a specific question via email, I got a short response with information that they had already provided, just quoted. 'I know... I read that info the first time..." Our "Queen Deluxe room" had a queen bed, a desk (with no desk chair) a short arm chair (only one, in a room for two people) and nothing on the balcony. The room was tiny, for the amount we paid, and as others have mentioned, felt outcast from the hotel itself. There was no information on the town, or things to do around town and worst of all, a sign in the room read "please clean and dry cups and glasses, and place them back in the positions you found them in". All in all, really not a great experience.

Room looks great, that’s as go....

To be fair, the rest of my family booked through Wyndham while I thought I would be smart book through Beachfront Resorts to save a few dollars... I’ll tell you what those few dollars would have got me that the rest of my family received; fresh sheets and towels daily, extra toilet paper, towels for the pool (I could get them, but would have to drive into the office in town to get them), not having to take the trash out after leaving, not being told to turn all the appliances off (including the fridge) under threat I would be charged. Some may say that maybe i’m being melodramatic, others maybe a big baby. But to those I say if you spent $720 for two nights and you work hard and just needed 2 days to relax with your loved ones, you wouldn’t want to have to pay to do the work that you do at home at a place with RESORT in the title. I should have spent the extra couple of dollars, please do the same!

Resort Facilities

'We picked up the keys from the Surfcoast Holiday Rentals on Pearl St, we checked in to the Beachfront Resort. Once we unpacked our luggage and settle into the room, we thought we would have a look around at the facilities such as the day spa, indoor and outdoor pool, restaraunt and bar. To our shock not only is the day spa closed, but also the bar, the restaraunt and the indoor pool. These facilities are listed on your website as an attraction and an interest for staying at the resort. Which we did not have the pleasure to receive. If we had known that four out of five facilties we're closed, we would not have spent the $462 for x2 nights stay and we would have found a better location to which our time may have been better spent and not been given false hope and false information. We are very disappointed in our stay because of this. Your website does not mention anything about these four facilities being closed and that in itself is unjust. Your website states, "Resort facilities include and outdoor and indoor pool, restaurant, cafe, day spa and bar." As well as having to clean everything in the apartment in worry that we'll be charge because of having any appliances left on or it being to messy... This is not the case and because of this, we will not be visiting the resort again or referring it to friends.

Substandard experience, custom....

We spent two nights at Beachfront Resort Torquay. We were already a bit sceptical when booking it due to the very average booking.com customer reviews of 7.2. But as most of the accommodation in Torquay and surrounding was more or less booked out, we went for it. First negative experience: if you are new to Torquay, you look of course for the „Beachfront Resort“ which you will not find with the given address. Actually, it is the Wyndham Resort. When going to the reception, we were told that there are two management teams and that we have to pickup the key to our appartment in 20 Pearl Street which is 1.5km away. As it was after 5pm, the „office“ was already closed. Luckily, the keys were accessible in an outdoor box. All this was not very transparent on the booking.com advertisement (these information was a bit hidden in the details and not available in the summary). When we finally arrived into Wyndham resort, finding the room was another challenge as this resort is really a labyrinth and the floors/hallways feel more like office floors than a resort/hotel. Very unpleasant. Second negative experience: the room was advertised on booking.com as „Deluxe Room with Queensize Bed“ and 45m2 size. This is simply not true: this room (258) was a standard room with max 30m2. The balcony was uncleaned and had only a single chair on it. What a joke. What is so difficult about providing the standard with two chairs and a small table? Thus, balcony remained unused, very unfortunate. Third negative experience: as already indicated by other reviewers, cleanliness is not the best. For the bed, which is the most important thing, everything fine. But the floors of living room and bathrooms were dirty. Fourth negative experience: all about the facilities...whereas the rooms managed by „the other management team“ (the resort with the official reception) had WiFi, the rooms labeled under „Beachfront Resort Torquay“ do not offer WiFi.
