Stayed here for a weekend. While the facilities and the tree houses are magnificent and everything we expected, I did expect a higher level of service. As an example, returning to our chalet at 14:00 on Saturday, our chalet had still not been serviced, and rather than leaving replacement coffee, shampoo etc at the door, we had to go ask for replacements. All in all a delightful experience, with the level of service the only aspect preventing it from being excellent.

Wedding #amazing

My daughter recently had her wedding in the garden, the reception in the lodge and guests stayed in the tree houses. Everything was great, the venue was so beautiful, the food was delicious and Shona and staff were efficient and friendly. Guests loved the secluded accommodation with breakfast delivered to the rooms. #highlyrecommended #rainforest #amazing

Can't Wait To Visit Again !

What a delightful Place. Having read the reviews of Pethers and looking at the website we had a fair idea of what to expect. In fact it is much better!! We were greeted by Shona on arrival , who was delightful and helpful throughout our stay. What a great asset she is to the resort. The resort itself is extraordinary. What vision Peter and Heather had when they created this unique place. The main building which houses the restaurant has soaring ceilings and walls of glass looking out over the rainforest. The feeling is calm and relaxed , added to by a giant fireplace centred in the room. Food at the restaurant was delicious and the wait staff were friendly and efficient. ( see seperate review ) The cabins are very spacious , with everything you need to be warm and comfortable. Decor is quirky , with a chinoiserie feel and each cabin is very private with floor to ceiling glass walls overlooking the rainforest. Breakfast is simple , yet perfectly adequate. Arrange for a massage in your cabin and then have a beautiful spa bath afterwards for a totally relaxing few hours. This is not a five star resort , but it doesn't pretend to be and it offers much more than stars. It is relaxed , very comfortable and set in a beautiful location. After two days here you feel rejuvenated and that you have had a very special experience. What more could you ask for :-)

Luxurious Escape Indeed

We certainly started off on the right foot as we stepped into the majestic main lodge of Pethers Retreat: the welcome was as warm as the embers that remained in the fire pit of its impressive centrepiece. Our treehouse was no less awe inspiring: unobstructed views of the rainforest, a cacophony of frog song, inviting fireside lounge suite, a king size bed and who wouldn't LOVE that tub?! The location is not only secluded but in perfect proximity to all the delights of Gallery Walk and surrounding wineries. If however, you're looking for somewhere to dine, look no further than the retreat's own restaurant- it was fantastic and definitely worthy of 5 stars. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the overall experience. I can't, in good conscience, give 5 stars to an establishment that does not offer wifi in the rooms. Fortunately, we had our Telstra Nighthawk in tow and we're able to live stream our experience to our followers which benefits the hotel (perhaps more than they realise) so don't believe what you read about signal blocking trees in their compendium. In order to be worthy of 5 stars they will also need to upgrade their breakfast. The hampers, we didn't have a problem with but their contents, or lack there of was disappointing. Muesli and quiches were nice but could be supplemented by a selection of local pastries and the TWO slices of supermarket-bought wholemeal bread need to be substituted for freshly baked bread and house-made preserves. Luxury Escape or not, prices at Pethers are such that breakfast could be remedied at little to no cost. I'm sure some of the local providores would be happy to strike a deal for some free advertising- this is what I do, so before you tell me how many 'amazing hotels across Australia' you've managed, consider how many I may have stayed in. I think you'd be surprised ;)

So Peacefull

A true retreat. Beautiful just you and the wild life. You don't need an alarm clock, leave that to the birds. Sat on our balcony and watched Wallaby. Only concern early in the week the restaurant wasn't open. Continental breakfast was fine.
