The Game Keepers Cottage

We stayed in the Game Keepers Cottage on the 25th & 26th May and I wanted to take the time to say thank you to the hosts for making it a wonderful and relaxing weekend. We checked in late and the hosts could not of been more flexible and accommodating even helping to carry our luggage and assisting with dinner arrangements from a local restaurant who delivered to our cabin. Upon arriving at the cabin it was so welcoming like staying in someones home lit with soft lighting and subtle music playing. There was an abundance of personal touches from antiques and luxury items to make you feel completely pampered from soft bathrobes,an abundance of firewood and a delicious and plentiful breakfast arrival hamper, with freshly baked bread and orange juice delivered every morning. We were even given bird seed to feed the local bird life on our varandah! The cabin was spotless and the service of the highest standard. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Lisson Grove to anyone looking for that luxurious break away. Thank you Janelle & Justin

Beautiful warmly place to stay

I stayed in the newly renovated Game Keepers lodge it was so relaxing from the fog covered gardens to the cool breeze afternoons. As night set in I decided to set up the fire place and watch the embers glow over a mellow red and some tasty cheese and crackers. I love Lisson Grove and the hosts Nick and Cheryl they are very hospitable and caring considerate people I have ever met. Coming to Tamborine Mountain give Lisson Grove a try. Paul Klerck Yeppoon

Finally!! the perfect venue fo....

What an unexpected delight! we decided to check out Lisson Grove on mount tamborine as some friends had previously booked the whole place for 2 nights for a small private function and had mentioned how lovely it was, my fiancé and I had been searching for the perfect space to celebrate our wedding day without much luck and to be honest I really didn't think I was going to find a venue that ticked all the boxes, But when we first walked through this beautiful property I just knew it was the place! it was perfect for us, we want a small intimate wedding with just a few close friends and relatives so its a bonus that there are the most charming and charismatic self contained cottages for our guests which saves having to sort accomadation/taxis etc.. The Gardens and flowers are just so beautiful it kind of reminds me of Alice in wonderland! I can just imagine how pretty its going to look once its all set up! There is a beauty and day spa- which I cannot wait to spoil my bridesmaids with some treatments the day before the wedding, not to mention the castle luxury accomadation ( which of course is where me and my soon to be hubby will be staying the night of the wedding!! Nick and sherryl have been amazing putting up with all my emails and phone calls I feel like I know them already! Not only would I recommend Lisson grove for a romantic or relaxing weekend away, It really is an awesome venue for a wedding, hens night, or any special private event!

I was so excited about having a break away and this was touted to be really amazing. We stayed in the abbey. Which is quite lovely. With the bedroom up stairs. Small kitchenette was very excited about the hot breakfast delivered to the door. Doesn’t happen. Day 1 you get a platter in the fridge with bacon eggs tomato mushrooms and eggs. Ussuming it was for 1 day we cooked most of it. As it had 2 sausages and 4 eggs so that go me is breakfast for 2! We were told fresh baked bread and fresh OJ delivered every day. However they have to call between 8 and 9 and we had planned to leave by 7 so we didn’t get the call. But hoped they would just pop it into the fridge ( did not happen ) and no no more platter for breakfast. That was an extra payment . So day two we were organising breakfast as I am the McGiver of the kitchen. But but 8.39 no call so I called them. They told me it would be there soon . Well the fresh baked bread was 2 warmed croissants ( not the same ) OJ was lovely. I was a bit disappointed in regards to the cleanliness the toaster was full of crumbs and was discoloured in the top. I am coeliac ( I bring special inserts for the toaster but I’m still really particular .) there was no white sugar we got one small jug of milk I felt that should have been daily replenished . The stove top was not well cleaned and around the sink was a black edge . They only supplied 1 tea towel and a teeny weeny was cloth The top of the aircon was very dirty you could see it from the bedroom and the ceiling in the bedroom had cross beam which were also dirty . The spa bath was great but really not for 2 and very slippery to get in and out of the shower. Really need a non slip mat . I Also felt the shower. Curtain was a bit of a failure as when you pulled it across it clung to you . Most annoying . The towels are really tiny and so is the bath mat so No chance of more than 1 shower a day . The air con did not work reverse cycle and the little heater was pretty much redundant with the very high ceilings and as it was raining all the time it was quite cool . For what I paid I don’t feel I got my money’s worth . Overall it was over $1000 for 2 days including a hot rock massage. And for that I would have liked a bit more attention and perhaps a bit more service . So although it was ok it wasn’t as good as I was expecting
