Beautiful cabin, very cozy and....
The Kookaburra Cottage we had for the last few days was lovely. So quiet and the renovations that Ian and Val have completed are beautiful. The cabin was so light and airy and completely unlike the photo's on the web. They want to completely finish the reno's before they have new photo's taken, so ignore what you see because it is definately not, what you get!!!!
It was bucketing down with rain on the drive to the mountain and Val called us before we arrived and told us not to come to the office, they had opened the cabin up and turned on the lights so we wouldn't get wet. Very thoughtful. We arrived and not 10 mins after we got there, Ian was knocking on the door with bottle of wine to help us relax a little. With the traffic on the highway and the torrential rain, it was really welcome.
The cabin was freshly painted and the lighting was very atmospheric. Ian gave us suggestions for a meal and off we went into the rain for a pub meal at the Irish hotel about 100 mtrs away.
The bed was really comfortable and we woke to bird sounds the next morning. Still raining, but had a lovely breakfast at the Mountain Brew.
You can self cater at the cottages but we wanted to eat out, we can cook at home.
The kitchen in the cabin was very new and modern and coffee machine did get a bit of a work out when we were in, as did the wine glasses. Lots of wineries on the mountain to chose from and all great Scenic Rim wines. Hard to beat some of their wines. More mainstream cafe's and pubs should start to stock them.
The books and DVD's in the cabin is a nice touch, especially when it is raining as much as what it was on the weekend. Bridget Jones and Harry met Sally might be older movies but great for a wet, cosy weekend on the mountain. Wood fire with wood, kindling and fire starters supplied or aircon, you chose.
We will definately be back and hopefully the weather will be kinder.

Loved the'Blue Wren Cottage' h....
Spent a fabulous foyr nights, on arrival there was flowers, chocolates and wine on the table, a hearty breakfast of bacon eggs and fresh bread, pod coffee was a treat with Tim Tams. Felt very spoilt. So much care has gone into these cottages and grounds. Very homely. Looking forward to our next visit.

A perfect place to stay: highl....
I just returned from a week-long trip to Mt Tamborine and stayed at Rose Cottage in the Kidd Street Cottages. It is a fantastic spot because it's close to many wonderful restaurants and cafes, within a 2- to 5-minute walk. The cottage is well laid out, extremely comfortable, and has everything you need. The generous veranda looks out to a lush garden, which is restful and peaceful. The owners Ian and Val were great and assisted in every way. I will definitely be returning to this gem in North Tamborine. Kathy

Lovely comfortable cabin in be....
Two nights here were not enough. We were in Blue Wren, a one bedroom cottage beautifully set up with everything we needed. There were flowers and chocolates to greet us too! ( it was just before Easter), A quiet spot in gorgeous gardens, walking distance to restaurants and a short drive to the Gallery Walk. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
