Pretty Far from Town
This hotel was pre-arranged by our travel company. The room was beautiful but for a junior suite, it certainly did not look like the suite on their webpage. The jacuzzi tub is in a bathroom without a view. There was a small deck with a peek-a-boo view of the lake. The room is comfortable but the prices for bar items is very high. A bottle of Evian water is $6 US and an airline sized bottle of whisky is $13.50 US. Our room was on the fourth building, which is up the hill and away from the check-in area. There is a van that will take you up the hill, when available, but otherwise it is a difficult uphill hike. Breakfast is great but there is little within an easy walking distance from this place. Manush, a craft beer place, is 1.5 miles along a very busy highway with no sidewalks and town is about 2 miles in the opposite direction. Taxi's are not readily available.
In addition, be aware that you must pay a hotel tax of $270 Argentine pesos for two people upon check-in. It cannot be paid for with credit card. This is not the fault of the hotel, but it is something to be aware of.
Overall, this is a nice place to stay but too far out of town for our tastes. You are captive to either dining there or walking a large distance for other options.
One final thing in regards to their "free welcome drink." You might think it is like other hotels that include an alcoholic bar drink. No, no, no...it is for orange juice, apple juice, etc.

Worst hotel of our South Ameri....
Design Suites was a big disappointment. The views are wonderful ( although they would be better if the windows were cleaner!) but that really is one of the very few positives about this hotel. We arrived in the evening from the lake crossing from Puerto Varas and were left at the bottom of the steep driveway from where the hotel were meant to send a car to collect us. We waited for some time and as no car arrived we had to pull our 22kg cases and holdalls up the steep twisty driveway. On arrival at reception they did not even apologise but said they were busy and would have got to us eventually - not a good start. The lift area was very dirty and our wash hand basin was badly chipped and the mirror was cracked.
Breakfast was very poor and the area was too small for the number of guests. The quality of the food was not good.
Generally the staff- especially reception - were not helpful. When we requested coffee and drinks while sitting on the terrace they were eventually provided but not willingly. We felt there was a definite issue with staff and management.
The hotel is out of town but that was no real problem as it is an ok walk and taxis are readily and cheaply available.
We felt this was more like a hostel than a hotel and we certainly will not be recommending it to anyone.

Great hotel in Bariloche
This hotel is a great place to stay. The room was quite spacious and it had amazing views of the lake and mountains. We stayed in tower #4 which is a little way from the lobby so be aware that the walk is a little steep; you can ask the front desk to send a shuttle but the walk is lovely and the gardens are really nice. The hotel is located 2km from the city center but finding transportation is quite easy, the fare is usually $100 pesos. The restaurant serves really good food and breakfast has a lot of good all you can eat selections. The amenities like the swimming pool and spa are great and again, and the views from the infinite pool are breathtaking

Nice, inexpensive, grate views....
This hotel is very practical and stylish. The suites have a kitchenette and all comes with a nice jacuzzi.
Ask for a room in a high floor or you may not be able to see the lake from the window.
Nice restaurant and friendly staff.

Overall, great stay!
Pros: VIEW FROM THE ROOM (room 3302) - see pic attached! Breakfast was included in the price and was very good with a nice variety of options. In Room Dining was also delicious. We did not have a chance to go in the pool, but it sure was beautiful. Clean room, good wifi, and prompt service. I also had a massage, which was great!
Con: Nothing terrible to note - however I was not a fan of the tour that was recommended by the in-house travel agency. Clearly, this is not a fault of the hotel, but I would have preferred to have more options presented and explained more clearly. I could have done my own research, but as this was a last minute trip, that was not possible.
Also, a bit far from the town (20/30 minute walk) - this is okay, but Uber (or similar car services) do not work in this area, making it a process to get into town.
