Great self-catering apartment ....
We stayed here for a week in Jan 2015. It was wonderful! Just a block away from the lovely extensive sandy beach in Puerto Madryn, there are 4 rooms I think, with shared use of an outside bbq, rooftop terrace, kitchen & dining room. Most of the other guests were Argentinian, so didn't want to cook inside, so we pretty much had the kitchen & dining room (seats 4) to ourselves most of the time. Because we were touring round Argentina, it was lovely to stay here for a while & cook for ourselves. It gets boring eating out all the time!
The owners were friendly & had a very polite black lab who was rather partial to the roasts we cooked in the oven!

Good location, Great managemen....
My wife and I stayed here in mid November for 4 nights. All things considered, it is a very good package for the price.
It has a good central location close to the water near ATM's, restaurants, convenience stores, and tour offices. Also, there is a separate shared kitchen which was really helpful in keeping drinks cold and for eating in. The only reason I wouldn't give A La Helice a full 5 stars is the fact that the wifi was unusable for our entire stay (it put a stop to my daily travel blog). The rooms can feel a bit cramped, and the shower temperature controls do take some getting used to, but those things are all overcome by the kindness and helpfulness of the management family who lives on the ground floor (the guest rooms are on the upper floor with a community patio). They were extremely knowledgeable about the region, helped book tours, gave great recommendations, exchanged money at a decent rate, and provided a discount card to local retail locations. I always tend to ask lots of questions and they answered them all. It would be hard to beat this place for the price you pay.

Super friendly family run & bu....
Centrally located in Puerto Madryn. Very helpful and friendly family run management, which will help you arrange excursions or give advice. They booked my tours prior to my arrival so I could kick off immediately.
Budget friendly accommodation: basic furniture in rooms with private bathrooms but comfortable. Only had problems to regulate water temperature of the shower.
Shared kitchen area which is great to cook your own stuff if you are on budget of tired to eat buffet or at restaurants and meet the other guests.

We stayed in Puerto Madryn for 2 nights and we chose this hotel given its location and price.
Though the room was small and we had some issues with the hot water (it was very hard to either adjust it to hot or cold given that it went from artic-cold to hellish-hot on a 1 mm move), the staff and overall service was very good. This is run by a family who live on the downstairs part of the hotel and they basically help you with anything you need.
Be careful since on the outside there is only one small sign saying "MD alojamientos" (or something of that sort) rather than "A La Helice"

Very central, good rooms and n....
It is a very small hotel but extremely cozy and very well located. The room was good, all rooms have TV and private bathroom. The shower was very trick though, either too hot or too cold, we had problems adjusting it to a comfortable temperature.
The hotel also had a kitchen at our disposal which was very nice.
The owner was kind and explained to us the best places to eat in town :-)
We also got discounts in some locations because we were guests there.
