My daughter & I enjoyed a quiet 2 night stay while in the area to visit the Puerto Moreno glacier. The hotel did not appear to be very full during our stay. We had a nice spacious 2nd floor room with 2 comfy double beds overlooking a field. There was a table in the room with a desk chair but no couch or lounge chairs. I do not think there was a TV. Bathroom was dated but spacious & functional. Public areas were nice. Wifi was slow to nonexistent. We ate in the dining room our night of arrival. It was nothing special. Breakfast was served in a lofted area & offered a good amount of choice but again was nothing special. We found the staff to be friendly & helpful; being in the service industry they could be more enthusiastic. This is a nice hotel but as others have stated could be so much more with attention to details on staff service, food service & quality & some capital expenditures to update the restaurant areas & ensure all rooms are suitably furnished & the bathrooms modernized. We enjoyed our stay here & I would recommend staying if one does not mind being a bit out of town from easy access to good restaurants. It is located on nicely treed grounds surrounded by some fields.

Cute, rustic hotel on the edge of town. Lobby area and common area are attractive. Nice bar area and a small restaurant. Breakfast is served in the loft above the restaurant. The breakfast was okay but could use an upgrade with a few more choices. Our room was larger than expected but not everything worked as it should. Needed to open the window for some air but they were very difficult to manage. Staff was very friendly.

A special place in El Calafate
This place is unique. Florencia at reception has to be one of the most friendly, helpful people around. Love the sheep herding show. There are many cozy areas to relax. The breakfast was the best in Patagonia. We did not know where to start, so many choices of breads and pastries. The only disappointment was the box lunch. With so many fresh baked breads/goods I wish that they had used those instead of what looked like a hot dog bun with ham and cheese and processed snacks. Other then that what a little gem. Loved the jet boilers for hot water in the rooms too. Thanks for a great stay and great staff.

Could be a great hotel with a ....
As noted in other reviews, this is an old ranch now located on the edge of town. The public areas are very attractive and the staff helpful. Rooms are generally large, but ours was dark and had no furniture other than a bed and desk (a comfortable chair would have been nice). There is no TV (which was fine with us) and wifi was poor throughout the hotel (which was not so fine). The toilet seat finish was cracked and peeling (definitely not fine). We ate dinner one evening at the hotel. The food was a set menu for the group and was tasty. The seating however was very low with no leg room under the tables. The breakfast buffet was not extensive and the eggs were burned. The hotel is about a twenty minute walk from the center of the town. Could be a very nice unique hotel but someone needs to pay attention to details.

Quaint hotel on edge of town
Large, clean guest rooms in this quaint hotel. The hotel has beautiful, peaceful grounds and the feel of an estancia. While the hotel is on the edge of town, it is only a 10-15 minute walk to the city center. The hotel has 3-4 loaner bicycles available--snag one early before they disappear. The hotel's Wi-Fi reception is poor and there is no TV in the rooms.. We heard that poor Wi-Fi is the norm for the El Calafate area. Breakfast service was very slow--it was a busy morning, and they ran low on all of the breakfast items for an extended period. Given our schedule, we pretty much did without that morning.
