Gracious Hospitality

My teenage grandson and I truly enjoyed our 3-night stay in the Poetry Building. Our studio apartment was ideal: hardwood floors, attractive décor, intriguing art on the walls, comfortable bed (with sofa for grandson), well-equipped kitchen. We had our own patio and enjoyed that. In Recoleta and in a building with multiple security measures, we felt safe. We appreciated the add-on elements included in the reservation -- private-car transportation too and from the EZE airport, the wonderful bottle of Malbec awaiting us in our room. But it is the staff that is the essential component of the Poetry Building's appeal. So kind and helpful! Best of all was the useful assistance from staff members who arranged a tango show and an on-site Argentinian cooking lesson with Thomas (La Escuela del Paladar) and provided a tip on a nearby restaurant (Tea Connection). Our stay in Argentina was fabulous, and the Poetry Building played a significant role.

Fancy Apartments

Very well located and very comfortable, spacious rooms. Nicely decorated too. Staff is proactive and friendly, very efficient and they speak several languages. Prompt replies to emails. There is a small fee for a third person in the room. Good water pressure in the bathroom and good hot water. They do not serve breakfast but all rooms have a small kitchen area and there are at least 3 simple restaurants within the block and two bakeries. I stayed in the back apartments and there was construction going on in an adjacent building. The noise started early, and it was loud - impossible to sleep in late if you wanted to. Very irritating. And they gave me a bottle of wine.

THE best staff in Buenos Aires....

I stayed at the Poetry Building on three separate occasions during March 2018. The staff are ultra helpful, all speak perfect English and will organise tours for you as well as giving advice on local attractions, restaurants, etc. Paula even confirmed our pick to at a remote town with a mini bus driver who spoke no English! The rooms are all slightly different with antique furniture. Room 1C had a small quiet balcony which was great for relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped for self catering and there is a well - stocked supermarket in the next street. The common terrace with plunge pool on 4th floor was also great for winding down after a full day of walking! The area of Recoleta is upmarket and felt safe, even at night. We walked to many of the attractions. Claudio was a great guide to our football game at River Plate as well as transportation to & from the airport! Poetry Building deserves its star rating in Lonely Planet! I will definitely be back!

UTTER BLISS IN BUENOS AIRES

Absolutely loved my stay of 5 days at the Poetry Building. Was beyond special and I will 1000% be back. The building was easy to communicate with in every way prior to my arrival. They organized Claudio to pick me up from the airport and from that pickup and conversation into town, I knew it was going to be a great stay. The hotel is completely renovated and I had the chance to check out some rooms before checking out - and every single one was nice. I travel extensively for work and almost always have some minor thing that I need to fix or change in every hotel... not one thing I needed here. The location of Recoleta was brilliant, very vibrant classy neighborhood and great restaurants. I walked A LOT and was able to easily find my way back to the hotel. I stayed in the penthouse 5B and LOVED it. A proper one bedroom apartment all my own. Loved the bed, loved the apple tv. Loved the two terraces to have coffee or a wine on. I especially loved the dipping pool to refresh after a long day or when I got up, the added bonus of the honor bar was brilliant, grabbing a bottle of Argentinian wine was perfection. The front desk was beyond helpful to organize many tours for me, all with a smile and perfect english. It's those little things that make international travel like this smooth. Paula, Rocio and Irina were beyond. Brent the owner was super helpful as well! I also loved the roof top organic garden, just a delightful concept and beautiful addition to an already great property. If you are looking for a big hotel and pomp and circumstance, this isn't it. If you are looking for a boutique hotel with your own private apartment with great amenities and a staff that really goes above and beyond, this is it.

Best of both worlds

The Poetry building is what I would call an apartment hotel, and a bit like air b&b. You have your own basically self catering apartment but with the benefit of a hotel type reception. The staff speak perfect English and could not be more helpful. They will recommend restaurants and book tours and transfers for you. They have their own driver who will take you out for the day (3 hour minimum). They are eco friendly and have a roof top garden from which you are allowed to take food in season. A small plunge pool is on floor 4. We had room 4B which was fine and had its own balcony - they are all different
