not as expected
what can I say definitely not 3 star standard, quite dirty and smelly too, also poor breakfast, however the location is very good and central and the staff helpful, but do not expect a 3 star hotel its more of a hostel.

Just for overnight stay
Having been a very good hotel many years ago, it has become quite a rundown property which is a real pity. Its owners are definitely saving money by not making important refurbishments. The result, an outdated place with quite a few flaws. Nevertheless, it was a comfortable stay and the personnel very very nice and efficient!

Be careful with the recepcionist. We paid the exact price that was requested (counted it twice) and after we gave it to the recepcionist he told us that 100 pesos were missing. The classic money hide scam, so if you pay in money count it at her face bill by bill.

Excellent location in the city center, close to the best theaters and restaurants of the area. Elegant, calm atmosphere, and reasonable prices are some of the reasons why I highly recommend this hotel. Service staff was always kind and helpful.

Well Located but Tired
We stayed at Liberty twice as part of a tour booking in December 2015/January 2016 and I cancelled our final stay.
The hotel is located virtually on the corner of Florida and Corrientes - a wonderful location for shoppers and theatre goers. Free wifi was provided in rooms - albeit the wifi signal strength was weak. Both hotel rooms we stayed in were well overdue for a make-over - by decades...!! As an example - in our first room, the painted wooden toilet seat paintwork was worn down to the wood and the ceiling over the bath was mouldy.
Problems experienced were:
- On both stays, my wife was bitten overnight (some form of bed bug). It took a fortnight for these bites to finally disappear.
- Very noisy - everything happening along Corrientes was clearly audible in both rooms we were accommodated within.
- First room had a very noisy overhead fan but the air conditioning worked. The second room, neither air conditioning or fan worked (the temperature while we stayed was around 27C overnight).
- I was only able to get hot water in our shower once in three days between both rooms. My wife was unable to get hot water at all.
- Breakfast was awful. One morning I sat and waited for the young man who was supervising the dining room to provide ham and cheese (there was no ham and only one slice of cheese) - this did not occur. He didn't move from the wall he was leaning on at the end of the room for the entire time we were in the dining room. The "juice" on offer was some form of cordial, the bread was very stodgy and stale.
At 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, I went to reception to request an iron to press a shirt for a tango show we were attending. This was not possible as the laundry was shut (the first time anywhere in the world where I have been denied an iron). Clearly the person on reception took exception to being told that not being able to provide an iron was unacceptable as he actively ignored us the following morning when we were about to check out. He occupied himself flirting with a couple of young ladies talking about where to visit in Buenos Aires with the other staff member on the reception desk. We were the only other people at the reception desk. This was the final straw for me - I cancelled our final stay with my travel agent.
I would not recommend this hotel and have advised the travel company who booked it not to use the hotel in future. The hotel needs a total refurbishment - and the attitude of the reception staff member who chose to ignore us needs attention.
