Amazing place

I was at La Casa de Pichincha for 2 months and don't have a bad word to say about the place, special. The kitchen is huge with amazing dining space along with a roof terrace that's so nice in the sun and where we had many delicious Asados (Argentinian Style.) The room I was in was one of the smallest but very pleasant and Mariano and Banessa were always on hand if here was ever an issue. The accommodation is very secure and locked overnight and wifi is very good also. I met some amazing people also staying at pichincha who I shared many awesome times with. They say the people make a place and that's relevant here but just the people but the house itself.

6 week stay while volunteering

Casa Pichincha is unlike many "hostels" I have stayed in. The facility is much more then it looks like from the outside. With 3 levels of lodging plus an incredible balcony you will have an amazing time. Almost all of the rooms open up to a courtyard of sorts which helps keep you cool during the day and at night. The balcony includes a full size kitchen somewhat like a small sized restaurant with ample dry storage as well as refrigerated storage. There are plenty of tables for everyone to sit down at and 3 large sliding glass doors that open up to a terrace. I have yet to experience one but I have heard amazing things about the house Asados cooked on the barbecue that happen occasionally on the terrace. The staff is great and all of them speak enough english to be able to converse easily and Vanessa is wonderful. The house was split between two groups with a majority of the residents being students from Norway and Sweden and the rest sporting volunteers from England, Netherlands and myself from the US. The atmosphere is great whether you want to enjoy the great night life of Buenos Aires or stay in and have a relaxing night. There is also a classroom if you need to study or Skype a family member or significant other in private as well as a TV room with satellite. I was actually surprised at the array of channels provided on the TV, from channels that would be considered premium in the US to several different sports channels showing NBA, NHL, EPL, La LIga and local sports (I even got to watch the Super Bowl). The wifi is great throughout the house and is free. The rooms are a bit jammed but it isn't anything new if you have stayed in a hostel style accommodation before. My room had a "locker" that I could lock when I left but my roommates and I rarely felt the need to lock anything up, even our room which we left open most the time. The house is very secure and very close to a ton of restaurants, supermarkets, subway entrance, bus stops and more. The neighborhood isn't the greatest but it definitely felt like home. Again this is nothing like most hostels I have ever stayed in but it is definitely worth the price and I would recommend it to anyone that has the opportunity to stay here.

A home away from home...

From my very first night Mariano and his wonderful team made me feel most welcome in Buenos Aires. A few of us were having problems getting money out of ATM's, so Mariano took time out of his busy schedule to walk with us to an ATM. This is just one of many examples of how much his team go above and beyond in every way! Banessa was an absolute delight, cooking the most beautiful breakfast everyday and Mariano was always around to assist with anything. I could not recommend this place more highly as it will give you the most authentic experience of Argentina and you will also feel like part of a family. Thank you so much Mariano and team for giving me so many warm memories of beautiful Argentina! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

A Great Wee Place

For my ten days in BA, La Casa de Pichincha was ideal. Mariano was very helpful and gave me good advice for travelling round the city and Vanessa was always friendly and welcoming. I also liked the layout of the place; very neat, although a little cold in winter. Nevertheless, highly recommended place to stay in BA.

Great home for a month

Fantastic place - facilities are superb. Fully equipped kitchen and awesome rooftop patio. Rooms are very spacious and you actually feel like you have a bit of privacy. Staff go beyond any expectation you could imagine - I couldn't thank them enough for making it so easy to be here. Close to 2 subway stops - Would recommend every time.
