Not worth three stars
We are a couple that stayed at this hotel for three nights in May. When we checked in they asked us to pay and so we did. My first credit card got declined for some reason so I payed with my other CC and that one got accepted. When I checked my bank statement the next day I noticed that I got charged on both CC for the full amount.
When I went to the reception to ask about it they told me that they couldn’t do anything about it and that I had to contact my bank. After I contacted my bank and got back from them our stay already got to an end and they told me that they already transferred the money to the hotel.
Since then I’ve emailed them several times about this issue, and never even got an answer about that they will investigate this. Also when calling them they never gave a clear answer and the told us to call them back on a day that the administrator is working but also that never worked out.
They are a disgrace for the hotels in Buenos Aires, once you’ve paid they never help you with anything else. And their heater/air conditioning is only working for the whole hotel or not. So it’s not adjustable per room, it’s either hot or cold in your room.
I still hope we can work out my double payment but after contacting them for more then ten times it looks like there will be a bigger change of the Netherlands winning a WorldCup than that this issue will be resolved.

perfectly decent, good value f....
The prices here are very competitive, I paid £135 for 3 nights, fair sized double room, ensuite, which is a good deal, and Buenos Aires isn't especially cheap.
When I made the booking, the website advertises this hotel (at reconquista 645) as being located in San Telmo - this is stretching it a bit, San Telmo really begins about 8 blocks south of here, but it's still a good neighbourhood, you're near Plaza Lavalle, and there's a good number of cafes and shops close by.
My room was always clean, some of the fixtures and fittings are a little old-fashioned, although an effort has been made to make-over the hotel and give it a more modern feel. The lobby is bright and airy, 24 hour reception staff are fairly helpful and speak very good English.
Breakfast was adequate, the usual selection of scrambled eggs, bacon, a few types of bread, ham and cheese - as it was all included in the day rate this has to add to my general rating of 'very good' because it's great value for money. Granted, it's not the level of luxury you'll expect elsewhere, but it gives you everything you need. I was happy to have an internal facing room, much quieter, especially as I like to sleep with the window open - I'm not sure if my room had a/c.
Free wifi was always fast enough for me to get on with some work - no problems at all.

Safe Location w/ Good Food Opt....
As noted in other reviews, this hotel is in a great location. You feel safe and it's nearby some of the tourist spots, souvenir shops, and great restaurants. I just have to recommend the empanada shop which is around the corner. For 12 pesos each, you can really fill up on freshly made empanadas. That for me was the highlight of my stay. Nothing against the hotel - the staff were friendly and the breakfast each morning was good. The room was small and the front table/desk was in poor condition. But I was visiting Argentina for the first time and wanted an opportunity to rest up in Buenos Aires before starting my adventure in Patagonia. This hotel gave me that and I would recommend this place. For those budget travelers, I would recommend using the Manuel Tienda Leon bus from the EZE airport. It costs approx. $14 USD and will drop you directly to the hotel (after a transfer at the bus terminal). This is cheaper than the $37 cost most taxis or hotel transport will charge you.

Although this hotel is old, it is very clean and has everything you need. The restaurant offered really delicious food at a good price. Stay was also at reasonable price. I did not know that had to let front desk know to turn on A/C..... but it was ok since I did not bothered to ask lol
