Dirty apartment with bad wifi,....
Booking two nights at Babel Palermo was the biggest mistake of our trip! AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. First of all, it's not a hotel. It's a ghetto apartment opened only between 3 to 6pm and if you arrive outside of these hours, good luck. There is a lift but does not work, so you have to carry your suitcase up 3 flights of stairs. The bathrooms were DIRTY and had cracked tiles. PICTURES ARE PHOTOSHOPPED AND NOT REPRESENTATIVE!!!! Bathroom was seriously filthy. There is a high chance we have feet fungus because of how disgusting the floors were. The fridge was buzzing all night and kept us up. The wifi was horrendous and barely worked. Worse of all was the service - we couldn't open the windows because there were mosquitoes at night (zika virus is apparent in Argentina - i'm pregnant), so having a bit of air conditioning would've helped. There is a machine but missing the remote control. We asked the lady at reception to help and she pretended to look for it, then said because it's winter it's off. We didn't like that answer and told her to be honest with us and she got all huffy and stomped away. She later came back with a key to another room and told us to stay there, but when we tried to move our things, the electricity didn't work?? Another thing is - if you book your room through hotels.com, it doesn't even come with a room cleaning!! They said you have to pay extra on top of it, which is ridiculous if they were a real hotel. Bottom line is, there are much better hotels in San Telmo and I would stay far far away from here.

Arrived around 6.00 pm to an area in Palermo Hollywood that is covered with poor quality graffiti and looked run down. We were looking for the hotel when our guide led us to a steel fronted building which we did not recognise as a hotel. After our guide used the external communication pad we were let in. This meant going past two steel security doors along a corridor into a partly cover area to the reception. Our room (on the ground floor) was enormous and the huge double bed looked lost. In the room was a sunken Jacuzzi large sofa and kitchenette and dining table for four. The coffee table was made out of wooden pallets. The floor walls and ceiling are untreated concrete, we felt Hitler's bunker would have been similar. That said everything worked even if things were on the loose side. We were given vouchers for breakfast at another hotel two minutes walk away. We were initially concerned as the area seemed run down but during our two day we relaxed and felt comfortable.
As an experience we would mark it 8 out of 10 but feel the average mark for a hotel is a fair one. We have left the individual ratings blank as the service is only checking in, the room can not be compared to other hotels and the value was included in the tour.

Horrible is a compliment to de....
For some reason the management is letting down this building, no mantenance at all.
Everything is broken or missing as:
AC did not work properly, the unit is too small for the loft unit.
The safe box key was missing, told the guy in the reception desk but the artist was too busy to take care of my claim.
The room came with only one key, after we asked for an extra one the manager tried to lecture us about the hotel policy. Finally she pardon us and provide the extra key.
Asked for a small table for the terrace, they provided a wood one full of dirt and bee nest on between the slats.
Pool was dirty, very dirty both water and bottom.
Room walls were dirty too and needs some paint.
Some lamps dont work, bathrooms are dirty, room smells like someone were smoking when we were out etc etc.
The Manager, a young lady, was very agressive and careless.
The hotel has a good potential but for some reason they do not care about maintenance and costumers.
Better book another place

Cute, nice hotel in the middle....
I stayed at Babel for 9 nights, with my tango teacher and tango friends from LA. It was such a lovely little hotel and the staff was so friendly and helpful with everything. From the moment they greeted me at the door to the moment I checked out, they were always ready to help in any way. Our tango crew ended up renting out most of the rooms in the complex, along with a room in the basement, where we did our yoga/pilates class in the morning and then our tango class thereafter. The rooms were really spacious and had all the amenities you would need in a hotel. There was even a kitchen, with everything you would need to make a meal. Since our days were jam packed with tango events, I made breakfast every morning, along with lunch. Dinner was the only meal I had outside of the hotel with our group. If you are wanting to stay in the Palermo section of BA, I would highly recommend staying at Babel Palermo. You won't be disappointed!

Nice hotel, friendly staff.
The hotel was OK for the price, (it was cheap, like 70 dollars per night or something like that, now I don't remember) if you weren't too picky. It has some flaws that a 4 stars hotel wouldn't have.
Like the bathroom door for instance, it didn't close, the taps were loose and some parts of the bathroom floor were missing, the entire floor was made of concrete except part of the bathroom, and some things were broken. But you cannot ask for something spectacular due to the price we paid for it.
You still can stay in this hotel and have a pleasant trip despite all the flaws it had.
The things that I really like were the bed, was very comfortable, if it weren't for the curtains that didn't block the light from the window we would have had a perfect rest.
The staff were very friendly, they provided us with a bus card to use, and they also let us check in early and do the check out late, which was great, cause our flight was late at night.
Also the cleaning lady came every day which was surprising, I really like that.
We didn't find the heater and the ac didn't heat the room which was kind of annoying, cause it was cold.
If you are planning to cook a big meal in the apartment you are going to have a difficult time cause the pan was very tiny (we couldnt cook a steak cause it didn't fit) and the apartment didn't have an oven either, so we ended up eating at restaurants close to the hotel.
The block where the hotel is, is not very nice but the surrounding area is safe and nice, you also have a lot of different choices of restaurants and bars to go to.
If you don't care about those flaws I recommend this hotel completely cause it was cheap and nice.
