Stayed on the Caribbean side in the Frangipani building as we preferred to be steps away from the beach and away from all the action. Room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely view. The staff attended to it many times throughout the day so we were never in need of anything. Restaurants on the property were good. We were seated immediately and waited on very quickly. All the serving staff was attentive and friendly. While the beach is not private, the local peddlers are friendly and respectful if you decline their goods/services. The grounds were well maintained and beautiful. Water sports was plentiful and the staff very helpful with the equipment. We found the resortt very friendly, welcoming and everyone went out of their way so that we enjoy the resort and their beautiful island. Thank you Sandals for another wonderful Birthday/Anniversary week. This was our 3rd Sandals vacation and they continue not to disappoint.

As good as the best
Went to sandals antigua on the 15th May and wasn’t disappointed with our choise.had a slight hick up when we got to our room as the bathroom was flooded .our replacement room was great though .we had a sunset bluff walkout honeymoon suite which was perfectly placed by a quiet pool .the resort was a nice size offering a good selection of restaurants and a great choice of different foods such as Italian, carrabean ,French ,Asian .our favourite was Eleanor’s where Bridgette, kellyn Natasha looked after us superbly.the English pub was also great and odaine was a star .the entertainment was good especially the white night and chocolate buffet .my wife is a celiac and has to have gluten free food .which has been a problem at other resorts in the past but at sandals antigua we didn’t have a problem and most of the staff new what was gluten free sandals antigua is well run with a great strong management team .a spiecial thanks to Matthew the manager and a really big thanks to Nico the executive assistance manager.if I’ve missed any body out I apologise as all the staff were brilliant.well done sandals Antigua we will definitely return at some point

This place just gets better an....
This was our 8th visit to Sandals Grande Antigua so that alone should tell you something. We love this place! After an eight and a half hour flight from the UK, the short bus ride to the resort is much appreciated. Cold flannels and a glass of champagne on arrival - what more can you ask for. The staff immediately make you feel welcome and you’re very soon in your room. We’re not fussy on room category - we’re just happy to be there and would gladly stay in any room.
We were very fortunate to be at the resort for Mr G’s last week. He had become a friend and we will miss him terribly. We will also miss Gus’s smiling face. All the staff, without exception, go out of their way to make sure we have a good time. We love coming back to catch up with them all as they have all become good friends. Treat them as you would like to be treated and you will get back so much more in return.
I must give a mention to some of the wonderful people who looked after us during our stay. All the ladies in Bayside especially Chanelle and Jackie. Violet and the lovely ladies in Eleanor’s - always ready for a friendly chat. The cocktail waitresses who wait on us all day long - Shanique, Jahilda, Celestine, Kadesha, Akeila and Akiko . Vanessa and the staff in the Med pool bar - our drinks were often on the bar waiting for us before we’d finished swimming over!! The lovely Erica at Barefoot who made me a beautiful bouquet to take away after we’d eaten. Sweet little Teshana from the Cafe - we love you. Kim the chef and Lydia and Sasha from the Courtyard Grill. And last but not least Marlyne from housekeeping who specifically asked to do the turndown in our room so she could decorate our bed for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. I’m so sorry if I have forgotten anyone.
It was also lovely to catch up with Leighton who had returned as Hotel Manager and Vanessa the Butler - we love you and miss your hugs. And we wish Matthew all the best in his new role as GM. It’s the wonderful staff that really make this place - it’s just up to you to make the most of the experience.
Thank you all for yet another wonderful holiday!

Sandals Antigua Very Good but....
Spent a week at Sandals Antigua from May 19 - May 26. Overall, i give it a solid 4. We are usually cruise vacationers and anticipated a different type of vacation.
First off, the property, beach, rooms, pools , staff are top notch. Woke up at 5:30 everyday to get chairs under the shade . As the day went on we moved to the shaded pool areas. The sand and water were perfect. No rocks or seaweed. Vendors were frequent but not burdensome. A simple no thanks and they were on their way.
The food IMHO, was not great. We never had a bad meal, but compared to Celebrity cruises, a step below. Marios was very good with a wonderful antipasto buffet. Ate there twice.. Breakfast at Bayside was typical Bfast fare. Omelet stations, pancakes etc. Bacon was good. I was surprised the resort did not have exotic fruit. Just Papaya and one day of Mango which was as exotic as it got. Ok Corral was ok, as was Barefoot. Went to Soy one day for Sushi and that was good. My wife is not much of a seafood or teppanyaki eater so we did not go to Kimonos. Was very surprised that Lobster was not on any of the menus. Portions were relatively small but you can eat as much as you want. Smaller portions cut down on waste which is a good thing.
Entertainment was not cruise quality. No comedians nor elaborate shows. Most of the entertainment did not draw a lot of attendees. The Drunken Duck has Karaoke and my wife and I belted out a few songs to the delight of the crowd. The only negative is that the staff sang quite a few songs. Not awful, but it is fun when the guests are the entertainers.
We thought the drinks were watered down, Drank a lot of alcohol but only felt tipsy when we drank wine or beer which is hard to water down. I think the resort may use half proof liquor but not sure.
The fire pits at night were great. A place to have a drink and smoke a cigar.
Took the 360 excursion. The beach that we went to was sub par. No chairs. The food on the excursion was fair.
Met some very nice couple along the way.
Overall a very relaxing week.

My husband and I went to Sandals Antigua two years ago and we had the best vacation ever, so we decided to make a return trip. Well ,Sandals did not disappoint, the beach, the food, everything was excellent. The one thing that was a big change, Mr. G the general manager got transferred to another Sandals resort, I don’t want to knock the new GM , but he fails in comparison. He definitely has big shoes to fill. He walked by us many times and never even introduced himself or just a simple hello would of been nice. He doesn’t seen to have control over the resort. That being said, I don’t think he was ready to take over such a huge endeavor. We still had an awesome time. Antigua is beautiful!! You will not regret making Sandals Antigua a vacation destination.
