Great base for family skiing, ....

Just returned from a lovely week here as 2 adults and 2 children. From our arrival to our departure and all the time in between the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The room was much bigger than expected. We had a one bedroom apartment with 2 single beds in the bedroom and a double sofa bed in the lounge. The kitchen had a hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge with a small freezer compartment and coffee maker. There was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. We even had a balcony with table and chairs which was lovely on the sunny afternoons. The bathroom was huge. The ski hire shop is in the same building, as was the well stocked supermarket and the Hunters Bar and Restaurant which does excellent food for a good price. It is a short walk up the main street to the bottom of the gondola. Though even this with 4 sets of skis, boots, poles, helmets etc was a battle so we chose to pay for a locker at the top of the gondola making the journey then a breeze. We therefore didn't use the lockers in the hotel. While there we also ate at the Darby (lively and great for snacks and watching ski school videos), El Cabin (great food and also have the ski school videos) and Bar/Restaurant 360 which had fabulous food. All were child friendly. We also paid to use the spa at the Diana Hotel one afternoon during the window where they allow in children and although pricey it was a lovely couple of hours enjoyed by all and welcomed by our by then very tired and aching legs. Tip - take flipflops or you have to buy some for 1 euro a pair (though you do then get to take them home). On the last afternoon we caught the local L5 bus to Andorra La Vella. Return tickets are 4.95 euros. Catching it is easy, working out where to get off not quite so straight forward but with the help of a little map from the hotel we worked out all the stops have names. All in all we had a great stay here. Thanks to the staff for help, advice and service.

Perfect !

We stayed here for 5 days for our ski holidays and the stay was perfect ! Couldn't have asked for more .. The apartment was clean and spacious and the kitchen fully equipped with the microwave, OTG and the induction. Service is excellent and the staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful. The supermarket below had everything one would need for a short stay.We were delighted to find some Indian curry mixes too :) The apartment is about 2 minutes walk from the Gondola which takes up to the mountains and in no time, we were on the piste. It is very convenient as with kids, carrying the skis and walking in the ski boots cans be tedious. The ski rental shop in San Moritz makes life so much easy. There is everything that one would need, and the people at the hire shop were very patient. It can get tricky with kids to get the right size of gears!! There are few restaurants and pubs in vicinity and we enjoyed our evenings after the days hard work skiing !! Overall, this is an amazing place, very convenient and comfortable. We had a wonderful time here and would come back to Sant Moritz on our next ski holidays !!

lads ski holiday

Just returned from our second visit to sant moritz. Stayed last year in a group of 6 and returned this year in a group of 14. Sant moritz is a fantastic place to stay, the rooms are huge, I've been going on snowboarding holidays for 14 years and never had a room as bis as you get here, very comfy beds loads of pillows etc fantastic cooking facilities fresh towels every day just cannot fault it. There is a brilliant shop attached to the hotel that is cheap as chips. Hunters bar downstairs has very very friendly staff and really good bar meals and the all important happy hour every day, 2 pints for 4 euros, which is amazing for a ski resort. The location is right next to the gondola and right in the heart of the village. Lots of great bars and restaurants within a 2 minute walk. Just book it, its the best place in town you will have a brilliant time. Oh and i must give a mention to Sara on reception she is fab and will go out of her way to help you . FANTASTIC APART HOTEL. 5 STAR ALL ROUND

Fantastic Apartment, A stones ....

Great little Self Catered Apartment with everything you need, staff couldn't have been more accommodating especially Sara on reception who had our small sofa bed problem sorted fast and efficiently. Supermarket downstairs is well stocked providing everything you need for a self catered holiday, only downside is that it does not open until 8.30am. Hunters Bar which is located next to the supermarket is warm and welcoming offering a great selection of food (I would highly recommend the BBQ Ribs). The ski hire shop also located within the hotel is open until 8pm meaning we could get or rentals sorted when we arrived so we were ready to ski straight away the following morning. The Hire shop also has a shop at the top of the gondola which was great as on the first day when after one run i realised my boots were not right i went to the shop and changed them for a different pair with no hassle at all saving me from having to go back down the gondola. The skiing is excellent for both beginners and intermediate/advance skiers, the cable car at the top of Arinsal to Pal makes the ski area pretty big. We visited in January and didn't que at all for lifts or gondola. Eating and drinking on the mountain was also reasonable, prices of food and drink were comparable to that of the UK but much cheaper in resort. My 7 year old went to Ski school which he thoroughly enjoyed, his instructor was a young American guy who was fantastic. Ski school runs from 9-12 and again from 3-4 which was excellent value for money especially when there were only 6 kids in his group! he came on leaps and bounds! Be aware that the ski and boot room at the hotel is accessed with your room key card and that if your 7 year old shuts the door you are locked in!! luckily there is a window so we stopped a passerby and handed him the key card to free us!! The apartments are literally a stones throw from the Gondola meaning a short stroll in the morning and the evening with tired legs and laden with ski gear is made much easier. Hotel Princess Dianna Park is a few minutes walk away and has some great facilities open to non residents, the Spa is amazing with a huge hydrotherapy pool, huge hot tub, and array of wet and dry hot rooms. Cost 15Euro per adult & 10Euro for children no (no children after 6pm). Next to the spa is a bowling alley and arcade fab for the kids, costing 3euro per person for the bowling, very reasonable. Andorra La Vella the capital is 15 min on the bus costing 4.80euro return, we visited Caldea Spa which was AMAZING but very expensive, children again were welcome but had to be quiet! Shopping in the capital is also Really Really good with a huge array of high end shops. We will be returning to Arinsal and will stay again at the St Moritz apartments! No complaints here.......excellent holiday!

Ski ski ski!!!

Hello, just wanted to thank you all, hotel staff, and shop staff for all your help during our recent stay with you. We loved the freedom of staying in the apartment, right overlooking the beautiful river and the Derby! You really did make our stay very enjoyable, thank you. Especially to the guys in the ski hire shop, you had us booted and ready to go with great patience and encouragement. And it was obvious to us that the whole St Moritz team work together! Everything we needed was there for us A well planned and laid out room Lots of space for 2adults and 3 kids Lovely big bath for aprés ski soak! Hot water was a bit scarce at peak times but worth it after a pint in the Derby! Very comfortable beds and plenty of blankets Thermostat for apartment heating was very welcome as too much heat in our case is uncomfortable. Downstairs there is a great little supermarket, lots of fresh regional produce ( the honey is amazing) And plenty of souvenirs for the kids to browse and not too expensive. So with great memories and stories to tell back home we would definitely be recommending you all in the future, and we will see you next year!
