Quick visit to Andorra

The location of this hotel is faultless - set above the main town, it has far reaching mountain views and the gardens are lovely. Our room was spacious, with a good bathroom that had been recently renovated and lovely linen on a comfy bed. The food was very acceptable although there was little choice for the evening meal at €22 a head. Breakfast was good. The staff were on the whole however very unfriendly , the waiter at dinner and the man on reception when we checked in being exceptions, we felt rather unwelcome, we are travelling with a small, generally quiet dog (just 5 kg and friendly) so perhaps this was the issue - they charged €16 for the privilege of having her with us - outrageous considering most places in Europe charge €8! Our overall impression of the country and city was very disappointing, Andorra will not be high on our list of countries to revisit. The drive over to France was spectacular and worth the detour!

Good quality-price relation

It's not a good 4 stars but it's reasonable hotel. Not modem nor fancy but honest. The rooms are big, the beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are renovated and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast is a bit poor and dinners after the surprise that it's not buffet, are very tasteful and you quickly forget the loss of the buffet.

Hotel was nice....

Stayed here in January with a group of friends and have to say the hotel is lovely in appearance and the bedroom we had was huge and the views were fantastic. The only downside was the shower was not hot enough even though we had it on full and some points was almost cold. Our room didn't get serviced one day and upon complaining at Reception the Receptionist after making many phone calls said it would be done while we were out.. this didn't happen. When mentioned again she looked gone out and was very unhelpful. Our room was never serviced, though the head housekeeper came and personally apologised to us the next day which was appreciated. We also had a problem with the TV in our room which we reported and they couldn't do anything about but did fix immediately the next day. A couple of times we approached Reception to ask something and we got blanked! She was far more interested in flirting with the guys and even ended up in the lift with them and in their hotel room! Completely unprofessional throughout our entire stay. We dined most evenings in the hotel and the food was not to our taste unfortunately.. The staff on the other hand weren't always understanding. One of our party has a nut allergy and was served nuts THREE times! Me and my friends felt like we were treated differently as we spoke a different native language to others in our party and were served separately as if we were on a completely different table. I would probably stay here again if the staff were more welcoming and understanding.

Total and complete rip-off

We asked for a bathtub when we did the reservation, as we were planning to go skiing before checking in and having a hot bath is always nice. Also we chose that expensive hotel because it was supposed to have a nice spa and we enjoy the après-ski very much in winter time. Unfortunately the first surprise was that there were no rooms with bathtubs. Ok, we thought, we'll go to the spa after taking a nap. When we woke up we asked the reception but they told us that the spa was full (they only accept 8 people at a time and you have to book in advance). We had been told we should book in advance but we didn't know the spa was that small and that it closed at 9pm. By the way, unlike other hotels with spa you have to pay a fee to get in, which is ridiculous for the room price. The icing on the cake was that the restaurant only serve dinner if you book it in advance too, otherwise they don't have the flexibility to serve food to those that arrive late or can't get out because of a snowstorm. We had to call a pizza delivery to get something to eat. All in all, a HUGE and TOTAL disappointment for a 1-night stay for which we paid 256 euros!

Nice Place

The hotel is very nice and the location in the mountains was delightful. Our room was large with a beautiful view of the mountain side. The hotel itself was very clean and the food was also very good. I would have rated the hotel higher, if not for the fact that while we were there, some staff appeared to be disinterested. While the front desk staff were pleasant and cheerful, not all staff shared this enthusiasm. Perhaps it was an off day. Still a pleasant hotel stay and in a great location.
