Package Itinerary

Day 1 Colombo Airport - Kandy

Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, shares a rich colonial heritage. The city offers a contrast with lush gardens, mansions, fine beaches, shopping malls trending expensive brands, busy roads and street markets. The vibrant city is a mixture of modern lifestyle and colonial buildings, with varying architectural styles influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. Upon arrival at the airport, you would be greeted by a MakeMyTrip representative and transferred to Kandy in a private vehicle.
En route to your destination, you could visit (own expense) one of the most sought after tourist attractions in Sri Lanka, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Volunteers and caretakers provide shelter and take care of orphaned, abandoned and injured elephants within the park. You can watch caretakers feed, bathe and help these animals; for which they have a fixed schedule for all the elephants. You can also walk with the herd to the nearby river to watch the elephants bathe and play around in water. After spending a joyous time watching all the gentle giants go about their lives head out to Kandy where after checking in to the hotel you enjoy a heartwarming dinner and a comfortable overnight stay to get reenergized for the upcoming journey.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage can only be covered if the flight is reaching early morning at Colombo Airport.

Day 2 Kandy

After a hearty breakfast, you would be picked up from the Hotel for you embark on a journey to Kandy - the second largest and mesmerizing city in Sri Lanka. The city is famous for its immense scenic beauty like lush prairie, picturesque lakes and rivers and misty mountains. Lying amidst the hills, Kandy is the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka. Kandy mesmerizes every visitor. While on your city tour, you will visit one of the world heritage sites as well as a sacred place for the Buddhists all over the world; namely the Temple of Tooth Relic known in Sri Lanka as Dalada Maligawa. Then you will proceed to the Kandy Lake where you can enjoy a leisure walk. The real evidence of the richness will be affirmed by your visit to the Gem Museum, where you can check semi-precious gems, namely the sapphires of Sri Lanka, which are very exclusive and come in shades of blue, red, green, white etc. In the evening, you will witness a traditional cultural dance show. Day 3 Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

After the breakfast, proceed for the city tour to Nuwara Eliya. En route visit the Sri Baktha Hanuman temple.On these hills of Ramboda where Hanuman was searching for Sita, the Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka built a temple with Hanuman as the presiding deity. On every full moon day, special poojas are conducted and witnessed by thousands of devotees. Later visit Seetha Amman Temple (Approximately 20 minute drive).The stream that runs from the hill catered to the needs of Sita during her stay at Ashoka Vatika. She is said to have bathed in this stream. Now there is a temple erected for Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman by the side of this stream. It is interesting to note that foot prints similar to Lord Hanumans are found by this river. In the evening visit the Gayathri Pe(e)dam in Nuwara Eliya. Day 4 Nuwara Eliya

After the breakfast, Check-out from the hotel and proceed for the city tour. When in Nuwara Eliya, visit the main attractions of the town like a golf course, trout streams, Victoria Park and boating or fishing on Lake Gregory. 
Your next visit is to a working tea factory where the slow-growing tea bushes of this highland region produce some of the world's finest Orange Pekoe tea. 
Later Proceed for Seetha Eliya which is believed to be the spot where Sita was held captive by the demon king Rawana. This was the place where Sita used to pray daily for Rama to come and rescue her. Later visit Haggala, a temperate hill-country garden.(Entrance fees to sites not included)
After the excursion, head to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5 Nuwara Eliya - Bentota

After enjoying sumptuous breakfast, leave for Bentota. It is popular for its sun-kissed beaches, exotic gardens, wildlife, sacred temples as well as a dazzling nightlife with some of the finest clubs in town. Here you will be able to relax and feel the spirit of the sea and the warmth of the soft sand. Your day will be divided between swimming in the water and relaxing on the beach. Bentota provides the perfect turf for an unfurled vacation at the beach. Besides enjoying the sun, sea and sand, you could also indulge in various water sports (at own expense) like scuba diving, jet skiing, kayaking, etc. and set free the adventure lover in you as Bentota is a favoured destination in Sri Lanka for the adventure enthusiasts. 
Evening is free for you to enjoy as you like. You could visit (own expense) Bentota Bazar, a place for shopping-enthusiasts. The market provides a large number of articles to shop for, such as: Batik textiles, momentos, gift items made of carved wood and brassware, etc. which could be bought at genuine rates. So, stuff up your bag of memories with souvenirs for your loved ones.
After having a scrumptious dinner, you would return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 6 Bentota

After the breakfast, proceed for the city tour. When in Bentota, enjoy Madhu river safari (at an additional cost) to watch the unique tradition of stilt fishing. For more exclusive experience, head for an excursion to Turtle Hatchery, a sea turtle conservation project operated by the Wildlife Protection Society of Sri Lanka to see all the volunteers work to save baby turtles. After being fed, the baby turtles are taken to the sea and released when they are 2-4 days old, usually during the safer hours of darkness.

After the excursion, check-in at the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 7 Bentota - Colombo

After a hearty breakfast, you would be picked up from the hotel and be transferred in a private vehicle to Colombo.
Upon arrival in Colombo, you would check-in the hotel, catch a breath and then be picked up from the lobby in a private vehicle, as you proceed for a city tour to have a closer glance at the charms of the city. Visit the most popular tourist attractions, such as: the Galle Face Green, a vast expanding stretch of lawn facing the sea and a beautiful place to walk along the greens and watch a splendid sunset, Viharamahadevi Park, Colombo National Museum, exhibiting ancient English paintings, miscellaneous sculptures from the colonial period and an antique collection of demon masks, World Trade Center towers, the tallest building in Sri Lanka and the best business centre rose with the concept of ‘One Stop Shop’, Old Parliament Building, Fort district, Old Colombo Lighthouse, Independence Hall at Independence Square in Cinnamon gardens, Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque St.Paul’s Church Milagiriya
For a fun-filled evening, you could plan to visit (own expense) Colombo’s night clubs, bars and casinos, and set free the party-animal in you. Bally’s Casino, Rhythm and Blues Nightclub and Sky Lounge are amongst the most popular party spots in Colombo, offering a wide choice of exotic food and interesting beverages. The amazing ambience with some music would add to your party fever.
After a tiring yet exciting day, grab an appetizing dinner and then enjoy a comfortable sleep at the hotel.

Day 8 Colombo Airport

  • Price of the booking is calculated for per passenger on a twin-sharing basis.

  • Pricing of the booking is based on the age of the passengers. Please make sure you enter the correct age of passengers at the time of booking. Passengers furnishing incorrect age details may incur penalty at the time of travelling.
  • A surcharge may be applicable for certain departures.
  • In case the selected hotel is unavailable for booking, an alternate arrangement will be offered to the customer in another hotel of a similar category.
  • Due to operational reasons, the routing of this tour may be amended. However, all mentioned services will remain unchanged.
  • Cost of deviation and cost of extension of the validity on your ticket is not included.
  • Porter fee at hotels, airports and seaports is not included in the package and has to be borne by the customer.

Please note if your flight lands in Colombo before 5 AM or after 7 PM, there will be an extra supplement charge of 25 USD per person for the airport transfers. Please note standard hotel check in Time is 2PM and Check out time is 11 AM. If you require early check in (before 2 PM), there will be an extra supplement charge of 40 USD per person.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation stage: 10 or more days prior to departure.
  • The initial booking amount will be forfeited. In case you have paid 100% of the package cost as the initial booking amount or first payment, a Makemytrip executive will share details of the non-refundable services included in the package (as per the confirmation email shared with you at the time of booking). The balance amount after deducting the cost of the non-refundable services, will be refunded to you.
  • Cancellation stage: less than 10 days prior to departure.
  • No refund will be provided upon cancellation done within 10 days before departure
