Package Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Paro & Transfer to Thimphu| Meals included: Dinner

Bhutan is a landscape of fluttering flags and majestic monasteries. The unadulterated ecology and imposing mountains have helped, create a cocoon of seclusion that is ideal for a romantic exploration with your amour. Your honeymoon would begin with your arrival in Paro, where you would be greeted by a MakeMyTrip representative at the airport, who wouldbrief you about the tour.

Afterwards, you would be transferred to Thimphu on private basis. The journey from Paro to Thimphu would be an amazingly scenic drive with views of mesmerizing mountains and flowing rivers. The distance between Paro and Thimphu is 70 km and would take approximately 1.5 hours to be covered

On reaching Thimphu, after your check-in at the hotel, you would have some time at leisure to enjoy the crisp mountain air with your loved one. Afterwards, you would be taken for a night tour around Thimphu. In this tour, you would get a glimpse of beautiful city and its sites such as the Memoriable Chorten, Buddha View Point, BBS tower & Tashichoe Dzong, while these marvels are bathed in moonlight.

Later in the evening, enjoy a refreshing dinner at the hotel, followed by a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 2 Sightseeing in Thimphu | Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner

After waking up to the Bhutanese sun, enjoy your breakfast and prepare yourself for the day of local sightseeing in the capital of the country. You would be picked-up from your hotel in a private SUV, and then procced to enjoy the sites, in the city that invite you to enjoy a romantic getaway from your fast-paced city life.

The tour would begin with special blessings by a monk and prayer flag hoisting, fortune and prosperity, by the couple. This flag can act as a symbolic start of your new life. After this special session, you would be taken to Simtokha Dzong - a monastery built in 1627, which at present houses the Institute for Language and Cultural Studies. Then you would be visiting the Memorial Chortenwhich is the most visible religious structures in Thimphuand theBuddha View Point. At this point stands a massive statue of Lord Buddha which offers a mesmerizing view of the whole valley.

You could grab lunch here (own expense). The local guide could offer you some great suggestion on the local eateries, where you can relish the delicacies of Bhutan.

After lunch, you would continue on the tour of the charming city, where you would be taken to the the Takin Mini Zoo. The Zoo houses the Takin - the national animal of Bhutan that looks like a cross between a cow and a goat. The animal is indigenous to Bhutan. Later visit the Trashi Chhoe Dzong - a strikingly large structure, surrounded by manicured lawns and beautiful gardens, which houses the throne room, offices of the secretariat and the King.

In the evening, you would be taken for a rejuvenating spa session at one of the premium properties by the river side to relax yourself, natural beauty of the place. Later, return to the hotel for a dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 Transfer from Thimphu to Punakha | Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner

Following a delicious breakfast, you would travel form Thimphu to Punakha in a private SUV. The distance of 75 km, would take approximately 3 hours to cover.

En route, you would be making stops to do some sightseeing. The first stop on the roster would be Dochula view point.TheDochula pass is 45 mins from Thimphu and perched at 3100 m offering a glimpse of the Himalayan range. The mighty mountains stand tall and makes for an incredible sight.

As you come closer to the Punakha valley, halt on your way at Chimi Lhakhangor the Fertility Temple. This sacred temple was made in honour of Lama Drukpa Kunley. You would take pleasant walk of about 20-minutes, and cross an archery ground to reach the temple.

You would also visit the Punakha Dzong. It stands majestically on an island between the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers and is one of the most photogenic out of all Bhutan's ancient fortresses. The Dzong joins the mainland by an arched wooden bridge and houses many precious relics from the days when successive kings reined the kingdom from this valley.
In the evening, return to your hotel in Punakha for a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Breakfast Dinner

Day 4 Transfer from Punakha to Paro | Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner

Today, you would check-out from the hotel in Punakha. After breakfast, head for a transfer to Paro in a private SUV. The distance between Punakha and Paro is 150 km and would take approximately 5 hours to cover.

After reaching Paro, you can grab a lunch (own expense) at one of the local eateries in the market after which you would visit some of the sites in the historic city.  You would visit the National Museum which displays the antique items gathered from different parts of the country in a revamped Ta-dzong building. Then you would be taken to the Kyichu Lhakhang. This temple built in 659 is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan and is believed to have been built to subdue a demoness residing in the Himalayas.

In the evening, you would return to the hotel in Paro and could go for a romantic stroll to enjoy the fresh air and the green scenery. Later, enjoy a warm and comforting dinner at the hotel, before you retire for the night.

Day 5 Local Sightseeing in Paro | Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner

After breakfast, embark on a hike to the famous Tiger’s nest temple. Paro displays a large influence of the traditional architecture, evident through the design and decoration of its structures. A prime example of this is evident in the Tiger’s nest Temple. The Temple or Taksang Monastery is the most famous of Bhutanese monasteries. It is said that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at the monastery. Perched precariously on the edge of a 1200m cliff, this monastery is an impressive sight and the unofficial symbol of Bhutan. The view from the height is truly mesmerizing, that and the company of your adored, would make this 2 hour up-hill hike all the more memorable. You could also choose to ride a horse from the parking lot to the monastery. If the full hike sounds a bit tough, you can hike for 1 hour to the cafeteria - a wooden tea-house restaurant which offers some refreshing traditional tea and a good view of the monastery.

 

In the evening, enjoy an amazing hot stone bath and rejuvenate yourself. Afterwards, you would be dropped-off at the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you would check-out from the hotel and then be transferred to the airport, to board your return flight to India.   • The price of the Holiday Services does not include – Expenses of personal nature, such as laundry, telephone calls, room service, alcoholic beverages, mini bar charges, tips, portage, camera fees etc. Any meals and services not specifically mentioned in the inclusions
  • Airline seats and hotel rooms are subject to availability at the time of booking.
  • In case of unavailability in the listed hotels, arrangement for an alternate accommodation will be made in a hotel of similar standard.
  • All hotels used by us in Bhutan provide room heaters at no additional cost.
  • Transportation shall be provided as per the itinerary and will not be at disposal.
  • AC will be switched off during hill drives.
