Package Itinerary

Day 1 Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling (93 kms in approximately 3 hours)

Spend a perfect holiday in North East which commences upon arrival at the Bagdogra airport.

Standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134 metres, ‘Dorje Ling’, or place of the Thunderbolt, offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. Often referred to as the 'Queen of the Hills', Darjeeling remains just as alluring with its tiny waterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. Surrounded by World Famous Tea Gardens and snow-capped mountains, Darjeeling remains one of the most exotic destinations. Graeme Westlake in his book ‘An Introduction to Hill Stations on India’ refers to Darjeeling as having “A view Scarcely Unrivalled on Earth”. check-in at the comfortable hotel room for a relaxing overnight stay.


Note - We can do some local sightseeing in the evening today or visit Kamakhya Temple depending on the flight timings.

Day 2 Darjeeling

Start your day with an early-morning Darjeeling hotel pick-up and embark on a 26 kilometers drive to reach Manebhanjan, a township that acts as a gateway to Singalila and Sandakphu. Follow an expert guide through pine, fir, birch forests and bamboo glades to reach Chitre. Stay alert as you might get an opportunity see animals. After a steep 2 hours trek through the wilderness, reach Chitre where you would come across a Buddhist Monastery. Relax at the monastery and savour some snacks (own expense) from the local eateries nearby. Halt for a while, freshen up and start the trek back downhill to Manebhanjan. 

If you want to expand your horizons then trek for another 3 kilometers to reach Lamaydhura, a tinsel hilly hamlet inhabited only by five Tibetan families. Walk on the trails with Nepal on one side and India on the other. In fact, the stalls at Lamaydhura have display boards showing they are in Nepal. While watching the snow-capped mountains standing tall, relish some snacks at the stalls in Lamaydhura (own expense). Explore the area and capture the one-of-a-kind vista in photos. Once you've got your cameras filled with pictures of amazing mountain, trek back to the Manebhanjan and end your day with a ride back to your hotel.

Day 3 Darjeeling - Gangtok (98 kms in approximately 4 hours)

Get up early to visit Tiger Hill to witness a beautiful sunrise and Himalayan Ranges like Kanchandzonga and Mount Everest. On a clear day, you can see the horizon changing colors just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turn golden. From there, proceed to Ghoom Monastery, which is the area’s oldest Monastery, built in 1875. On your way back from Tiger Hill, you can see the 15 feet tall image of Buddha. Later embark on a drive to Gangtok which is approximately a four hours from Darjeeling. At an altitude of 1750m, Gangtok became the state capital in the mid-19th century and has undergone rapid development since then. The downtown area is dominated by huge government buildings decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols. Gangtok is also a resting ground for people traveling to North Sikkim. Surrounded by Monasteries and Orchids, Gangtok is truly a traveller’s delight. upon reaching Gantok, if time permits proceed for some local sightseeing of Gangtok.

Having explored the iconic attractions, you can return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4 Gangtok - Changu Lake Excursion - Gangtok

In the morning, head out on an excursion to witness the gems of Sikkim. You will be first visiting the Changu or Tsomgo Lake which is barely 35 kilometres from Gangtok. The stunning view of the crystal clear lake amidst the snowy summits is a sight to behold. 

Next, visit Baba Mandir after traveling for 18 kilometres cutting and running through the snow-capped mountains. Baba Mandir is a memorial commemorated to the brave Sepoy of Indian Army who lost his life around 30 years back in this region. 

Having explored the iconic attractions, you can return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
