Dense Afforestation using the Miyawaki Technique of Plantation

Partner: Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh (HIAL)

First of its kind, the project aims to plant 1.3 lakh saplings over the course of 2.4 years in campus of HIAL University, Ladakh. Since Ladakh is a mountainous region with extreme climatic conditions, the plantation will be undertaken using the Miyawaki technique. Compared to conventional landscapes and tree plantations, forests made using Miyawaki Method grow 10 times faster, have 30 times greener surface area, and are full of biodiversity. The process is completely natural and free of chemicals.
