While countries within Oceania do not really offer any SHOPPING destinations per se, most regions have their distinct culture and handicrafts that can be purchased as souvenirs. Flea markets and Saturday/Sunday markets are a norm in most cities and towns, where everything from vegetables and old furniture to authentic artefacts are sold. It’s alright to negotiate the price while SHOPPING in makeshift markets; however, shops in regular markets have fixed prices. Most cities also have dollar stores where you can purchase souvenirs and gift items at very low prices, if not really for a dollar each. The Pacific Islands offer a broad range of handicrafts, made out of palms, shells, and other coastal raw material, as well as regional apparel and swim/beachwear.
