Though, almost all of them can understand it, more than 75% of the residents make use of English as their primary language. The rest of the population makes use of Spanish, French, Portuguese and Haitian Creole with Spanish being spoken by a majority of the minority.  

When to Go

Orlando faces extreme climate conditions with winters being a bit extra-cold (no snowfall though!) and summers a bit uneasy with occasional downpours. Come winters and theme parks loosen up, crowds disperse and most water parks in the city close down. This is a great time to visit the city if you aren’t into belly-flopping in water park pools.

Come spring and the water parks open their gates and the theme park cash registers start ringing. The months of March and April are the best time to visit the city when you can enjoy both the waters as well as the fun rides.

Steer clear of the city during summer months! Fall is a great time to visit the city; crowds disperse, the rush & excitement in the air settles down and weather becomes absolutely lovely.  

Local Transport

Car

Once inside the city, you can rent a car from a number of car rental services operating in the city. Orlando is properly labelled and it’s easy to find your way through to the theme parks at Kissimmee and Lake Buena Vista. Traffic is a common problem in the downtown area and the roads around most tourist areas remain jammed, especially on Fridays.

Bus

The Lynx Bus Service serves close to 60 routes within the city at $2 per ride. However the Lymmo Bus Service, which moves on a dedicated lane, comes absolutely free of cost.

Quite unlike its name, the I-Ride Trolley services comprises of modified buses, especially started for tourists in the area containing tourist attractions. At $1.25 per ride, the I-Ride Trolley buses do not have dedicated lanes and make for a slow ride if stuck in traffic.
