There are too many people coming in from too many places from all over the world to witness the spectacle; you are going to have a multilingual experience but as long as you know English, don’t worry; you'll get by easily!

When to Go

Winters are as good a time to visit the falls as summers. However, summers are a great time to witness the falls in full vigour. And you won’t have to dress yourselves up in layers of clothes in order to get a closer look. The flipside: you'll have to make your excursion amidst a bustling crowd and chock-a-block markets.

Come winters and the edges of Niagara Falls freeze and the flow becomes partial. The Falls as well as the trees around it dress themselves up in a veil of white; ice cold water freezing all that it comes in contact with.

Bus

During the peak season, the People Mover resumes services along the river over Niagara Parkway and stops at every relevant point. Fare: $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for children. The ‘under 5’ travellers will get to ride, absolutely free of cost.

The Falls Shuttle makes pickups and drops inside River Road Districts and along the Lundry’s Lane.
 
Foot

This is the best option for tourists staying near the falls. During off-season, i.e. May to October, you may have to go looking for ground to place you feet on, especially at places offering great views of the falls. They are all taken!   

New York

Foot

Once you are there, this is the best way to experience the Falls. Make a payment of 50¢ to crossover to the Canadian side of the Falls for a better, grandiose view.

Car

Use a car but park it way outside or be ready to be ripped for parking: $6/30 minutes and $15/day.
   
Bicycles

This is another good way to experience the falls. Contact Zoom Leisure Bicycle Rentals. They deliver bikes all over the Niagara region.

Bus

NFTA bus service is dependable and runs to and from the Falls to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
