When to Go: Bangalore has excellent weather all year round in comparison to other metros in India. With cool evenings even in the summer, as well as in the mild winters, Bangalore is a delight, and though the sun can be quite sharp in the summers, the maximum temperature rarely exceeds 35 °C. Bangalore also seems to be host to a magical weather phenomenon - whenever it gets too hot, it almost surely rains the next day, cooling the place down. The rainy season can be quite a dampener though, lasting from June to August, when it rains nearly all day long. Keeping all this in mind, the best time to visit Bangalore for ideal conditions is from October to March, avoiding the rains and the not-so-bad heat.

Local Transport: Bangalore is served by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), which operates the public Bus Transport Service (BTS) in the city. Famous for being the first public sector enterprise to introduce intra-city Volvo buses in India, BMTC offers good connectivity within the city with its vast fleet of buses. It also manages the Airport Shuttle services, which is the best option for commuting to & fro the new Bangalore International Airport. Auto-rickshaws are also widely used, but as in many other cities in India, haggling is almost always required. Namma Metro is Bangalore’s new metro rail initiative, handled by BMRC, and when launched, will provide fast & efficient transportation to the masses.
