When to Go: The winter months (June – August) are the best time to visit Cairns with clear skies, cool breeze and the perfect scuba diving opportunity. The summer months (December – February), however, though hot and wet, offer beautiful waterfalls, green rainforests and spectacular bird life.

Local Transport: Cairns is connected with an efficient network of bus, taxi, scooters and motorcycles and bicycles. Bus services operate from the City Place to all over Cairns including the northern beaches. One can hire a taxi from the City Place, The Esplanade or the Reef Casino. It is also easy to hire a car, motorbike or bicycle in Cairns, although there is a minimum age limit to do so.
